      Orphan Attachments   07/31/2018

I have been doing some housekeeping lately and I've noticed that I had a lot of orphaned attachments. Attachments get orphaned when the PM or post is deleted without removing the attachment first. Deleting a PM or post does not delete the attachment and the file or image remain on the server. I'd like to ask all members to go through their attachments and delete any attachments you don't need anymore or those that have been orphaned. Where can I get a list of my attachments? Click on your display name in the upper right corner of the forums and pick "My Attachments" from the drop-down list. How can I tell an attachment is orphaned? If the PM has been deleted, you'll see a message like this in your attachment list: Unfortunately there is no message if the post has been deleted, so please check your old posts. We do purge old birthday threads every once in a while. Also some hosted projects have been shut down, so you may have orphaned attachments on one of those locations. Thanks!

    Cat Show Tails

As I’m sure many of you know by now, I breed pedigree cats. Our purpose is to maintain and promote the breed. Part of that process is to enter our little darlings in cat shows where they can be judged and hopefully win awards. The big difference between dog and cat shows is that with cat shows, we can’t run around a ring with our cats on leads. I wish we could! There are several cat breeds that will happily walk on a leash. In fact, it’s pretty much a requirement for Bengals and Savannas, which need a lot of exercise and stimulation. However the one thing I think all cat breeds have in common is their independence. They’ll walk on a leash, but where they want to go, not where you want them to go. So while it would be very entertaining, it would be chaos to have a bunch of cats walking around on leads. They would also fight. We’ve had two shows within a month which gave me the opportunity to show all my cats. The first show was in Niagara Falls as part of the Pet Expo. It was two days, running on a weekend. The second show was in Belleville and was only a one day show since it coincided with the awards banquet, which took place on Saturday. Now I’ll use the pictures we took from the shows to explain the structure, what the judges are looking for and show you the expressions on my cats’ faces as they tolerated the judging process. First, let's start with the Pet Expo floor in Niagara Falls: From that view, the cat show area was in the top right. The next picture is the cat show area. This show had four rings, or judging areas. All the participants are in show cages, or kennels on tables. Some shows will provide cages, but they aren't very good, so it's best to buy your own. We prefer the soft-side collapsible kennels, like the burgundy one at the front in the picture below. Show Mechanics To show your cat, they must be registered with the organization running the show. In this case, that's the Canadian Cat Association (CCA). Even household pets can be registered and shown and we regularly get quite a few people doing that. Then you fill out the entry form for the show. Once your entry is confirmed, you are assigned a number for each cat (or kitten). When you arrive at the show, you're given a catalogue that lists all the registrants and the show schedule. You look for the category for your cats so you know where you need to go and listen to the announcements for when your cats are called to the ring. Each cage in the ring will have a number on top and you place your cat in the appropriate cage. Judging Pedigree cats are judged based on their conformity to the breed standard. Each breed has a published standard and one of the really interesting tasks as a breeder is trying to judge how well your six week old kitten adheres to the standard. They change a lot and all breeders will tell you about the stories when they sold a champion. You just hope that when you do, at least you sold him or her with breeding rights and not as a pet! If you think you have a high quality champion, you want to keep that animal in your cattery and have them as part of your breeding program. In addition to the standard, cats are also judging on grooming and personality. Cat shows are beauty pageants and some cats just don't perform well in shows. My queen, Ada, is a perfect example. She hates shows and doesn't perform well. She is also small, so some judges may feel that she doesn't conform to the standard. The breed standard for British Shorthairs doesn't say anything about overall size, just that everything should be in proportion and they should have a cobby body. Cats are judged by multiple judges because each judge has different things that they consider important. Champion Status This only applies to pedigree cats. Once your cat has been judged by four judges and has not been disqualified by any of the four, you cat attains his Champion status. After that, he needs to beat out other Champions to gain points towards his Grand Champion status. Once he's attained that, he needs to beat other Grand Champions to earn his Double Grand Champion. After that, it's Master Grand Champion and then finally Supreme Master Grand Champion. You need to attend a lot of shows for several years to attain the higher ranks. Now let's get back to pictures! Once our numbers were called, Jimi and I took our cats to the ring and put them in their judging cages. Male cats are always separated by female cats or empty cages to prevent fights. Then the judge takes each cat of the cage and brings her to the judging table. Here's Curie being judged: Sharon is checking the proportion of Curie's ears and head. Curie's cage is number 22 in the background. Kyra was number 23, Kyan was 24 and Pascal was 25. It was Kyra and Kyan who did the best at the Niagara Falls show. Here are some pictures of Kyra being judged: The judges liked Kyra's rare colour and the quality of her coat. She also has a nice round face. As you can see, Kyan just wishes this was over. One of the judges checked Kyan's testicles (to make sure they've dropped) and so after that, he tucked his tail between his legs when each judge picked him up. One judge laughed and said "You'll get the hang of this". The judge checked him because technically, he's still a kitten. They don't do that with adults because if there was a problem, they couldn't breed. Anyway Kyan did very well. He has a nice plush coat that's very soft as well. His face needs to fill out more and if it doesn't, we'll get him neutered and keep him as a pet. Finally here are some pictures of Pascal. Pascal is an interesting case because his body is very good for a British Shorthair, but his markings aren't true. He's listed as a Silver Ticked Tabby, but he has some spots. Not enough spots to be called a Silver Spotted Tabby however. So he won't do well with any judge that knows their colours and markings, but not all judges do. He was ranked highest by one judge who felt body structure was the most important factor. Once the judges have seen all the cats for each breed, they start awarding ribbons. Here is Curie, Kyra and Kyan with the ribbons on their cages: They all get the red and green ribbons because they were the only British Shorthair cats in the show this time around and they all had different colours. The judge in this case awarded Kyan with best of breed and Kyra got second best of breed. None of that means points however. The really important part is when each judge picks their favourites among all shorthair cats and among all breeds. All breed means all cats, no matter their breed. Overall Standings Here are the awards my cats won at the Niagara Falls show: Curie - 7th best All Breed Kyra - 10th best Shorthair, 8th best All Breed, 9th best All Breed Kyan - 8th best All Breed, 5th best All Breed, 9th best All Breed, 10th best All Breed, 8th best Shorthair Pascal - 7th best All Breed There were eight judges in total and every single judge chose at least one of my cats in their finals rings. Here are some pictures showing the plaques they won on their kennel ribbons: That's Pascal and Kyan sharing a kennel and the picture below has Curie and Kyra sharing the other kennel. That concludes the Niagara Falls cat show. Thanks for reading! If you got this far, you deserve a medal.

    My E3 2018 Experience

I don't know what forum to post this in. As requested, here are my thoughts on my E3 experience this year. I had gotten the opportunity to get a media pass to go to E3 this year. (Those not in the know, they recently opened up passes for public purchase. Previously the event was by invite only or you required an approved media pass to be able to attend. The media passes are still a thing, and they get you in for free, rather than having to pay $249 for a ticket.) So I decided to go, along with my friend that got me in through his website. It was our first time meeting in person after having known each other online for 12 years, so that was an interesting experience in itself. If I had to describe E3 in one word it would be... exhausting. We flew in on the day that the showroom floor opened, June 12. We didn't plan well enough to get into any of the conferences. I did want to sit in on the Bethesda one but maybe next year. My plane landed in California at 8:50 am, pacific time after a torturous 6 hour flight in coach from New York, which departed at 5:10 in the morning, eastern time... Pain, suffering, agony... Three words that describe this tremulous experience. Hotel check-in wasn't until 2:00 pm that day, so I had to lug my heavy backpack around for the entire day which only made the first day all the more exhausting. We didn't end up leaving the convention center until around 5:30 pm that day. Thankfully, a mental health organization called Take This (Cool guys, check them out.) was there providing a secluded room which they called the AFK Room where you could come rest for a while. Needless to say, we spent a decent bit of time in there throughout the day. So you probably want me to talk about the games now, right? The first thing we ended up doing after arriving was getting in the line to check out the Nintendo area. They had a gated off section with a bunch of their upcoming games. You had to wait in line to get one of these guys: Card says day 3, but I actually did this twice. They rip up your card before you leave so I thought to take a picture of it the second time. They only allowed you inside the gated area if you presented one of those cards, no matter what kind of show pass you had. Once inside you got stamped for each game you played, and finally you got to turn the card in for some cheap trinkets (Some Mario pins and a Nintendo Switch... cloth? Napkin? Still can't wrap my head around what it actually is.) After that we basically just walked around the show floor for a while, checking things out here and there. We had split up at this point to check things out on our own, so I decided to head over to the Bethesda section. They didn't have much playable that I was really interested in. Fallout 76 wasn't there for some inconceivable reason. It's coming out this year so I don't understand the decision to leave it behind. What I did get to play, however, was The Elder Scrolls: Blades, the upcoming Elder Scrolls mobile game. Honestly, it wasn't that bad. I was expecting it to be, well... not good, but it proved me wrong. The game is pretty neat. You get three distinct areas to focus on. One for PVP, appropriately called the arena, one for dungeon crawling and town management, and one that's an endless dungeon. I chose the endless dungeon for my demo. It controls the best it can for a mobile game. You tap where you want to go on the screen and your character will run to that point. The combat was interesting, but not the best thing in the world. You hold down on the screen and let go when the little circle around your finger turns yellow and then your character attacks. I was disappointed in the lack of world interactivity. I went up to a crate, for example, and I was unable to look inside it. You can only interact with designated items that have a yellow glow around them. Another thing that kind of bugged me is just how many of Skyrim's graphic assets they straight up ripped from the game and plopped in here. You can tell that they're the same meshes, for almost everything. It does look pretty impressive for a mobile game though. I'm interested in checking out more of it when it comes out, but I'm not a huge mobile game player so that probably won't change. I also got a free ice cream from the Rage 2 ammo truck which was pretty funny. It was an ice truck decked out to look like an armored van. They were also giving out real, edible Elder Scrolls sweetrolls! So that was fun. Day 2 was a bit more interesting. We got there bright and early and were able to get into the line to play the upcoming Pokemon games. (Yes mom, I still play Pokemon.) I ended up kind of regretting that decision because we waited in that line for 3 solid hours. The games were pretty ok but nothing to really brag about, at least according to the guided demo that I played. They had a staffer at each demo unit guiding you through, telling you exactly what you were and weren't allowed to do. We were pretty tired after that and decided to go get some overwhelmingly priced lunch. The rest of the day we just kind of did some more wandering. I went to get some rest and while I was scrolling through twitter I saw that one of my favorite youtube channels, Funhaus, was doing a live show at the GameSpot booth, so I went over there to check it out. Seeing them live was a pretty surreal experience, especially after this happened... (Spoiler because it's a giant embedded video) I got to be part of the Q&A. Yeah, that's me. I didn't know what to ask so I just asked them an inside joke that only people that watch the channel would understand. Definitely the highlight of the show for me though. After that we wandered around some more before heading back to the hotel to rest up for the final day. Day 3 was basically all wandering around because we had already seen everything at that point. My friend stayed until 5:00 pm when his flight had to take off so we parted ways and I stayed until closing until I had to get over to the airport for my flight. Another agonizing 6 hours in coach after having to wait at LAX for 4 hours because I had no where else to go. Farewell LA. You're a terrible place, please don't ever change. Here's a picture of all the crap I left with. Of course I had to buy the Dark Brotherhood shirt and sticker at the Bethesda booth. Would I do it again? That's a tough question to answer. I did have a good time. It was definitely worth experiencing at least once in my life. Maybe if I go again next year I'll only do one or two days. All in all, good experience.

Hello TAL. I'm posting this today because I have been attempting myself at recreating my childhood experience of playing this game. I have to say thank you and you all gave great insight and suggestions on details that i could imagine are somewhat lost in todays modern day computer world. I have successfully emulated this game in a virtual machine and it runs Flawless. In my attempts to get this game running i tried windows 95, 98, xp,7,1 and after a sleepless night or two of tinkering i was finally able to launch the game. windows xp won't run the game at all; windows 95 (the one with IE) will run the game but not display right; windows 98 was the only OS that would run properly. I installed three crucial (i think) components to the system. 1. 256 bit color driver 2. Direct X8 (holy smokes this had windows 98 support!!) 3. ac'97 audio driver ps - my first attempt at making an iso failed miserably and resulted in the game starting, flashing a black screen and closing. The iso file was just 30 mb but upon inspecting the underside of the actual CD i could see the whole thing is written to so i'm guessing something was lost. i worked around this by putting the actual cd in the host machine and setting the cd drive in virtual box

I found the thread via the Wayback Machine. http://web.archive.org/web/20161101110946/http://www.darkcreations.org/forums/topic/1424-occupy-blackreach/ If I were you I would definitely repost the thread here or on AFK Mods or on both sites since it has to do with your LAL mod. Perhaps add that to Nexus Wiki as well, just what LHammonds did with Wrye's "BUG in Oblivion.exe" thread.

A thread of Uniformity Mods for Morrowind Gameplay vs. Text Over the years of playing Morrowind, I've noticed how many things which you read in books or are said through dialogue are inconsistent with what actually appears in gameplay. There have been many mods made which address a lot of these inconsistencies, either taking the form of bug fixes or lore-friendly additions to the game world. The goal of this thread is to make a list of all of these incongruities and list mods which address those issues. Modders can consider this thread a source for ideas, while players can consider this thread a place to share inconsistencies you have discovered with others and find potential mods to add to their playlist. For example, Savants will tell you this about Ald Redaynia: We know from gameplay that the only thing at Ald Redaynia is the ruined Wizard Tower. However, there are two mods which aim to address this inconsistency between dialogue and gameplay: Ald Redaynia Extended and Redaynia Village (my personal choice of the two) Please note, that I'm not stating that the way the gameplay turned out is automatically wrong if it disagrees with text, but it is oftentimes less interesting. With that introduction out of the way, let me get the thread started with my list of findings. The thread will be divided into several different categories: Inconsistencies: Explicitly variant material; those things which are said to exist in dialogue or books but which do not appear or are not recognized in the game. Ineffectuals: Implicitly variant material; those things which aren't explicitly absent from the game but which are severely underdeveloped. Inferences: Conclusions drawn from underdeveloped or hinted at material. These are much more subjective. Take it or leave it. Information: Items of somewhat obscure information hidden in the game's text. Change log List of Inconsistencies Explicitly variant material List of Ineffectuals Implicitly variant material List of Inferences Conclusions drawn from underdeveloped or hinted at material List of Information Obscure information >>> Please share your own experience with inconsistencies here in this thread! <<< >>> Please follow the format I have used when posting: quotation, issue, solution (if applicable) <<< >>> Feel free to use this thread for discussion of the lists in this post or lists posted by other members. <<< >>> If you know of or make any mods which address these items (or items which are not listed), please share here! <<<

The most Restless Night of Sleep Ever!

There's definitely GOG support for OBSE. You just have to download its own particular "latest" loader. It works great. Oblivion from GOG has no DRM, no overlays, it's already LAA so you don't have to use the 4gb patcher, it includes all DLC, and you can get it for $10 if it's on sale. It's a no-brainer for people who don't own Oblivion yet, and even for people that do I still suggest it highly.

    Arkshtrumz EV

    Version 1.0.0

    43 downloads

This is a translation of the brilliant Dwemer Ruins of Arkshtrumz mod created by a Russian modding team. Ramza at TESALL provided quite a bit of support getting the scripts translated right, in addition to granting me permission to release my translation. This .esp obviously won't work without downloading the original mod from: http://tesall.ru/files/file/3880-dvemerskie-ruiny-arkshtrumc/ The mod is difficult to describe, so if you're interested you might checkout the video trailers in that link's Screenshot section to decide if you'll like it. The "Ruins" are absolutely immense, perhaps one of the few mods where I literally felt as if I was getting lost during my explorations. My translation has been in-progress for...well over a year, now: such is the vastness of the mod. It probably took me a good 16-20 hours of play to complete the "questliine" of the mod, and even then I may have missed some secret areas. However...this mod is confusing, so if you have questions, please post them. I'll try to compile a FAQ to address questions or concerns.

    Kitties!!

Older Brits are like that. They just love the attention and will purr away. One time when I took one of my old Brits, Britannia, to the vet, she was purring while the vet was trying to listen to her heart. The vet had to put a dab of alcohol on her nose to make her stop purring. Just a minute ago, I heard the fans in my computer really ramp up and I was wondering what was making them run so hard. One of the kittens was sleeping on the radiator!!!

I’ve read in various sources that male Brits aren’t fully developed until they’re 3 or 4 years old. It might be just muscle mass, but when fully developed they should be quite solid. Apparently it’s testosterone that gives them the big cheeks, or JOWLS, as Ama puts it.

Even the different colours have different prices because of their rarity. First you have to import the cats and then you need to come up with the right combination to get the results you want. I seriously lucked out with my first pair because I had no clue what I was doing. Now I would focus more on getting a chinchilla colour, which would be pretty expensive. And I think it's time to announce that I got my site updated finally. Cor Auratum is my cattery. The logo was done by Amadaun. Thanks Ama! Btw, I didn't change the colour, I just put it on the banner with the dark blue background and I thought the effect looked awesome. If you visit on a mobile device with low resolution, like a cellphone, you'll see the banner change and the logo drops down and shows its real colours. I still have a few fixes to upload to the live site, which I'll do shortly.

Oh my god, modcraft was such a shit show. The amount of gymnastics I had to do to get that damn darkbrotherhood.com website in order was infuriating. They had this horrible theme that they bought that they insisted on me using but it was such a broken, ugly looking piece of shit that I would have had to be some kind of wizard to make it work. In the end I just rebuilt the entire site from the ground up because it was so bad. They also had some really questionable stuff stored on the server for the site that I won't specifically get into... Those people were a nightmare to work with. Not to mention that any time I needed to get something done I'd have to go track "him" down on the vent server and butt into whatever fucked up conversation they were having. Then there was the whole part about me being threatened by Mr. Marine Moneybags when you guys were trying to split when I didn't even know what was going on. I have more but before this becomes the Modcraft horror story thread, I'll leave it at that.

Here are some pictures of my queen, Ada, just before she delivered her new litter. She was really big this time. The second picture shows dad, Pascal, walking by. I have descriptions of each image in my gallery album, here. Here are some pictures of Ada with her new kittens. Sorry for the fuzziness on some of them. The enclosure is fairly dark and I had to snap the pictures quickly in some cases. You can see the cord for the heating pad in some of the pictures. After Ada climbed out of the nest and laid on the cool floor, I realized it was too hot and removed the pad. As I said in the description for this picture, quickly taking pictures can lead to some unfortunate poses. Now some pics showing the kits on their own. Where's mom? In the next two pictures, I'm doing the daily weighing of each kit. I think you can see why I need to use nail polish on their back claws to tell them apart. They are mewing for mom in these pictures and she's anxiously waiting in the nest for me to return them.

Or alternatively, A Horrible Amalgamation of Twilight, 50 Shades, and Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Allow me to provide the context for which this is supposed to make sense. Back in the Summer of 2016 (IIRC), an mobile gaming app was released by a group called Pixelberry. In a nutshell, each game is a story in which you control either a custom MC (such as Hero) or an established character (The Crown and the Flame or Most Wanted). In addition to having some really kickass stories and interesting characters, much to my surprise when first playing the game, it is also infamous for its heavy use of Diamonds. Diamonds are an in-game currency that you can by and use to unlock special scenes, weapons, armor, clothing, etc. Unfortunately, you are only given enough diamonds for one or two premium options. While some games, diamond scenes only add spice and a few more clothing options, but in others (and TCaTF was horrible at this) it was basically a MUST if you want the Best Ending. Since its beginnings, which only had about 3-4 stories, has grown tremendously. One of its newest titles is Blood Bound, and OOOOHHHHH BOY. Let's just say, you'll figure out pretty quickly why I titled it the way I did. Now that I've gotten the background covered, let's get to it! Buckle up kiddies, this one is a doozy. Right away before the game even starts, you're treated to a loading screen of a non-customized MC embracing (lol, see what I did there?) the primary/heavily favored LI, something reminiscent of Twilight/50 Shades. Immediately, I am taken aback by some of the loading screen tips, namely the ones that say Every culture has a some sort of vampiric myth and Some say vampirism dates back to ancient Babylon, maybe even further. Hell, even vampire clans exist in the city. Kinda reminds me of something... Nope. Just a coincidence. Totally not stealing, borrowing, inspired by this. Anyway, after choosing my character's looks I am forced to come up with a name. Let's do...Lilith. No reason at all. None. Just like the name. Why are you looking at me like that? Lilith is your stereotypical small town girl with big dreams, living in the city of New York with her nerdy roommate Lily (more on her later). The game starts with her about to enter a job interview, and with that the shit show is officially on the road. Just a heads up, most of this will contain snark and not be 100% verbatim of what happens. Lilith walks into Raines Corporation, where she is greeted by some bitch whose name I have already forgotten about. Let's call her, Stereotypical Right Hand Woman. So Stereotypical Right Hand Woman opens up by asking some pretty basic questions: Why do you want to work here? What do you think you can bring to the company? I should also point out that Lilith is surprised that she's apparently being looked at for the role of assistant to the CEO. Seriously? WTF? Don't you think you should know what the fuck you're interviewing for? Rule #1 man, and you already fucked up. Stereotypical Right Hand Woman is then interrupted by the CEO, Adrian Raines himself. You get to choose what Adrian looks like, so I went with the guy in the middle. Let's be honest, the other options weren't even real options... Let's give him a nickname...How about Not-Christian Grey? Not-Christian Grey barges in on your interview and the asks Lilith some weird shit and then he asks you about your take on a story that carries some philosophical points to ponder. No matter what you pick, you're guaranteed the job regardless. Man, I wish I had that level of charisma. I'd feel a lot better about my current job hunt. What? I have loans. Don't judge me. Stereotypical Right Hand Woman objects to his rash decision to hire Lilith, but he's all "Eh, fuck it," and ignores her. Lilith is then prompted by Not-Christian Grey to go pull some presents out from the basement for some friends of his that are on their way over. Some more weird shit is said and Lilith is only mildly concerned. I'm so glad this is our protagonist. She runs into some weird, old guy who is grumpy and tells her to GTFO, but she's all like "plz no." Grumpy then disappears for a little bit and gives her a box full of some antiquity stuff and something called red mandrake Not-Christian Grey probably bought off Amazon. Grumpy then tells Lilith who to give the gifts to and to not fuck up and that the red weed is for Not-Christian Grey, and she's all "k thx bye." Lilith then arrives and meets another two people whose names I cannot be bothered to look up so I'll just give them nicknames: Egyptian Ming Xiao and Mr. I Don't Respect Women. As long as you pick the right option, Lilith hands out the gifts successfully like a sobered Santa Claus with tits. Not-Christian Grey is happy, as are Egyptian Ming Xiao and Mr. I Don't Respect Women. Mr. I Don't Respect Women gets ahold of your arm and suggests that you call him Daddy, and Not-Christian Grey and Egyptian Ming Xiao are disgusted because GFDI... I was gonna say it's the current year but I guess this works too... Not-Christian Grey is not amused, leaps to defend your honor, and tells Mr. I Don't Respect Women that he does not know de way. Lilith is then instructed to leave the room and then gets a text from her roommate Lily. Since we are on a roll with nicknames, let's call her Not-Heather Poe. Not-Heather Poe texts you about how things are going and reveals that she's waiting for date night with her girlfriend. Suddenly, the Cool Kids Club meeting adjourns and Not-Christian Grey invites you to dinner, which, shocker, is a diamonds-only option. At this point, I said fuck it and took to the internet to see what happens. Turns out vampires are slightly different in that they can partake in mortal food/drink. Whew. Good thing they threw that in there, otherwise I would have thought for sure that they heavily borrowed from a much better vampiric game. I'm sure we'll have more signs that prove that this isn't just some shitty VtM universe fanfic. /sarcasm Just like in any self-insert style game, your character is treated to a fine meal paired with even better booze. Not -Christian Grey then asks Lilith to describe experience with said booze, resulting in Lilith shitting out some purple prose that would make Stephanie Meyer eat her asshole out with Tabasco sauce and ghost peppers. Not-Christian Grey is aroused by this for some fucking reason...I don't know...And then you ask him about his personal life after he mentions that he's from France. Wait a minute. A financially successful Vampire CEO? From France? With his name plastered on a giant corporate building? Hmm... God, if only I could think of someone with similar characteristics. I'm sure it'll come to me eventually. Lilith then spouts out some shit about building for a better future, the dinner ends, and you meet Not-Heather Poe at home, who's been flaked on by her girlfriend. Lilith either tells her "I'm sure it's nothing," or "Dude, dump that bitch." Not-Heather Poe then asks her about her day and she's all, "Oh, it's nothing. I just got a job at a big ass corporation and shit is only a little weird." Lilith then remembers she's carrying Not -Christian Grey 's weed and then runs back to work to drop off the evidence. She sees that Not -Christian Grey is still in his office and walks right in without knocking. Motherfucking Millennial. How dare she not announce her presence? Liliths is the embodiment of everything wrong with generation, I tell you... is Anyway, Lilith witnesses Not -Christian Grey y basically doing the one thing shy of deep-throating Stereotypical Right Hand Woman on his desk and then the chapter ends. To be continued..

    [RELz] Tales of Cyrodiil

Tales of Cyrodiil View File Name: Tales of Cyrodiil Version: 1.03 Date: 2019-01-07 Category: Quests Author: Cliffworms ================= Requirements: ================= Oblivion 1.2.416 Oblivion Script Extender Homepage: http://obse.silverlock.org Elys Universal Silent Voice DarNified UI (with the option for smaller fonts) or any similar mod that reduces the fonts' size ================= Description: ================= "Some of the greatest adventures have had their starts in smoky, noisy taverns." - The Daggerfall Manual, p.58 Tales of Cyrodiil adds 14 quests for you to embark on. These adventures are inspired by some of Daggerfall's side quests you can get from innkeepers and shopkeepers. Unlike Daggerfall, the Tales of Cyrodiil are unique and not randomly generated. Also, I've greatly expanded them by adding new outcomes, dialogues and ways to complete them. ================= Details: ================= The quest givers can be found in most of Cyrodiil's cities. One can be found in a roadside tavern. Asking about rumors in town may lead you to adventures. Want to know where to find the quest givers? Check the bottom of the document. Quests vary from the classic "fetch me this" to more complex adventures, though even the most basic have a lot of dialogue to make them interesting and have multiple ways to complete them. Impersonate a coward at a duel, lend a hand to a noble who mistakenly gifted fake gold ingots to his contacts, lift the curse from a wraith's skeletal hand, help a noblewoman in preventing her husband's ransom... or betray her and save him, and more. In addition to the quests, completing vanilla Oblivion's quests will increase or decrease your disposition towards NPCs and factions, depending on how you complete them. For example, taking care of our favorite paranoid Wood Elf in Skingrad will net you a better reputation with the town's citizens, in particular with the three people the Wood Elf targeted. On the opposite, botching a Thieves Guild job will lower your disposition with your guildmates and probably the factions linked to that quest, if any. Note that these changes are done in a separate script, meaning that no changes have been done to Oblivion's vanilla scripts, therefore making this compatible with mods that change Oblivion's quests. ================= Quest mechanics ================= - Time limit Most quests must be completed in a limited time. Some are days, others are weeks. Bandits won't hold someone hostage foverer. You'll always be informed of the time limit. Failing to complete the quest in time will result in failure. - No essential NPCs. No essential items Indeed, most of the related quests' NPCs can die and most quest items can be dropped or sold. For most quests, the death of quest NPCs will result in failure. Don't worry though. The NPCs stay inside cities so the only way they could die is if you had a hand in it. For items, you'll always be able to tell the NPC you lost the quest item, resulting again in a failure...but that could be a lie and it'd allow you to keep the items for yourself. - Skill checks in dialogue In most quests, you can bargain your reward using Mercantile. You may also be able to use Speechcraft. To identify skill checks, you will see [M] or [ S ] before your answer, for Mercantile and Speechcraft, respectively. Having Luck of 60 or more helps with skill checks. - Voiceless, choice-based dialogue Most of the quest dialogue is choice-based, allowing you to ask questions about the task, accept or refuse it and bargain your reward. Some topics are also added when, for example, you ask around for directions to one of the NPCs or a location. Finally, all the new dialogue is not voice acted. - Pre-quest, present-quest and post-quest rumors People will have rumors to say before the quest, during the quest and after the quest. They vary depending on the outcome, if you fail or succeed the quest. - On the importance of faction relations Some of the quests have optional paths if you are a specific faction member or if you have good relations with them. For example, in A Noble's Debts, being a Thieves Guild member or having good relations with them will allow you to receive a letter from the Guild to give you hints on where the lost loan is located. - No new dungeons or locations Quests NPCs are placed inside the game's cities and the quests take place inside vanilla locations only. The dungeons used for those quests are existing Oblivion dungeons that have no quest linked to them. This allows for greater compatibility, preventing conflicts with mods that add new locations or change the landscapes. - Rewards Most quests reward the player with gold, others give not too powerful magical items. All quests give a faction relation bonus/malus with the city in which the quest takes place or the factions that were implicated in the quest. For example, helping a nobleman from Cheydinhal will give you better disposition with the nobility in general and the people of Cheydinhal. On the opposite, botching a quest or betraying your quest giver if the opportunity arises will drop your disposition with the related factions. After all, the quest giver will talk about how good or bad you did his job with his friends and neighbors. - Difficulty Most quests use Oblivion's leveling system for difficulty as I believe it easier for balance. Some NPCs are fixed, though. Overhauls that changes Oblivion's default leveled lists for equipment will work with Tales of Cyrodiil. - Oblivion XP integration Users of Oblivion XP will be rewarded for completing quests, succeeding at skill checks in dialogue and will receive a small amount for failing quests. - Optional quest markers By default, quest markers for Tales of Cyrodiil's quests are disabled. Sufficient descriptions and directions are given to find a location or an NPC. If you still want to use quest markers, you will have the option on the first quest you accept. If you change your mind afterwards, open the console window and input the following command : set TOCConfig.QuestMarkers to 1 ======================== Incompatibility/Compatibility: ======================== Compatible : Open Cities/Open Cities Reborn Better Dungeons Snu's Dungeons Unique Landscapes Productive Mines Oblivion Uncut (minor conflict with the quest To Assist the Fate. This will allow you to complete To Assist the Fate) Minor incompatibilities : Legion-Occupied Forts (An enemy NPC and creature are added to Fort Alessia and Fort Chalman. The worst that'll happen is that these two enemies will attack the legionnaires and those two quests' storyline won't make much sense, but you'll be able to complete them. The FOMO World Map is a map built for use with theNiceOne's Dynamic Map (Obviously it can be used alone as well but why would you not want the features of Dynamic Map?). The project is simply the product of my own desire to see the vast scope of the world within my modded Oblivion whenever I wanted to by scrolling about the map, the feeling of knowing that there is a vast vast world all around you for your characters to explore is simply one that I find all too enchanting. The map depicts the various province mods of Tamriel most of which are in the Tamriel worldspace but also Hammerfell: TEG, Silgrad Tower, and MorroBlivion which are not in the Tamriel worldspace, as well as various other island/continent province mods like Windfall, Dibella's Watch, Nascosto Isles and as you can clearly see Ubanga which are all NOT in the Tamriel worldspace but simply show up on the map to perfect scale and placed where they would be in the headcanon lore of my own modded Oblivion's world (Which is obviously based on the lore provided in those mods themselves and based on the geography and culture of the people in the mods. If someone wants to argue that one of these island provinces should be in another location I would be more than happy to hear your position on it's position ^^). Without further ado, The Current Version (Well almost current) of [WIP] FOMO World Map: Link to full resolution version on DeviantArt: Its HUGE!! If your interested in teasers and getting hype why not check out some of the other nice progress screenshot over on my DeviantArt profile while your over there: Sifonseal As the title of this thread states this is still a WIP, it has been a WIP for many many months now slowly improving and expanding over that time slowly, much of it is subject to change, the prime example being when Envy releases Elsweyr Pellitine I will likely switch from TWMP Valenwood Improved to TWMP Valenwood-Elsweyr to be able to play Elsweyr Pellitine and as such the map will also drastically change. I also very much look forward to adding TAL's own Black Marsh and Titov's Hammerfell to this ever growing map ^^. However I will likely release full resolution copy of the map in dds format with the required ini file for Dynamic Map and installation instructions for all the nice folk here at TAL that are interested in giving the map a try. Obviously you are welcome to (And I encourage it) download the linked map, dds it and workout the specific of the ini if you want to mess around with it right now, if you do decide to do this feel free to ask about the specific of the ini file ^^. Also if someone wants a lighter version of the map, here is the last upload before the Ubanga expansion: Mapy Map Furthermore, for those who don't already know every city and road you see on that map exists in my modded Oblivion (Sadly though some of those cities (e.g. those in Valenwood) are just shells), regardless I like to look at this map and see a testament to the vastness of a heavily modded Oblivion! The reason or this WIP release thread currently is just to get whatever feedback anyone might have on the map, as well as an idea for what else might need to be included on it in the future, many of the minor details like the detailing of the roads and the shadowing of place names have not been added as they would need to be recreated with each iteration, so the actual release versions of the map will look more detailed than these WIP versions, though the current WIP versions are adequately pleasing to the eye from where I stand, though that might be due to a smidge of bias from spending so much time making it ^^".

Chrome is a pain in the ass. It does that for all sites without SSL. I have a certificate for my cattery site, on the same server, but I can't get one for TAL until we switch the forum software. You need an active license to change the URL that the forums use.

    Message Logger Messages

I really dislike programs designed to provide error logs where they fail to explain what the errors are, what they relate to, whether they matter, and how to fix the errors. But thanks for linking to that thread, the person's log has 28 entries relating to BC, 24 of which appear to be an issue with records from Better Imperial City.esp looking for a record in Better Cities Resources.esm. The error is saying that the record listed in brackets has a parent record assigned (the record stated in the first part), but the parent record does not exist. As the parent does not exist, parent data has been removed from the record listed in brackets; the result will be that the record listed in brackets will base its enable-state on its own Record Flags instead of on the enable-state of its parent record. Harmless, but could potentially mean that an object intended to be disabled will be enabled, or an object intended to be enabled will be disabled due to having no parent record to control its state. As the BIC.ESP records are Form ID ##0C#### this means that the issue is in the Green Emperor Way content - and since none of the 24 listed records even has a parent in the not-yet released WIP files, I think this is something I already fixed, so perhaps it was reported to me back in December when that thread was created, perhaps I found it myself and fixed it. The other 4 enties don't mean much to me however. They relate to the ESM, custom worldspace records. The error is "Offset collection for worldspace '#' (#) is not optimal' - no clue what that means. Worldspace records contain a subrecord "OFST - Offset Data" which this might relate to, however none of these four records have any data in OFST, and then in Oblivion.esm every single worldspace record has this blank too. So if that is what the error refers to, why doesn't that log list all the vanilla worldspaces as not being optimal? By the wording "not optimal" that implies that it could be better, meaning that there isn't actually a problem, it just isn't as efficient as it might be, so I'd say it's harmless too.

And now, for the not so thrilling conclusion of Interrupted Nosferatu Snack Time! Feral Nosferatu notices Not-Christian Grey and Lilith and decides it's best to put down his human sippy cup and kick some ass. Rule #Whatever-the -fuck of Vampires: Never interrupt snack time. Feral Nossie decides to pick at Not-Christian Grey's likely future snack, but he's all "aw hell naw" and steps in between to save Lilith. At this point, I really want to change her name to Too Dumb To Live. Maybe I will. Maybe. Not-Christian Grey the asks Lilith to hand him a weapon and she can decide to choose between either a sharp branch or a rock. Remember those loading screens? The ones that no one pays attention to? Guess what was your clue to this part of the chapter? So Lilith, in moment of clarity (actually it was me being smart; Lilith probably would have thrown the rock. Dumb bitch), and Not-Christian Grey sends the Feral Nossie to his Final Death. That bastard. He just wanted his human Capri-Sun. What a prick. Lilith then asks Not-Christian Grey to call the Wambulance and he says "yeah, but we def need to gtfo when they get here. Also you call since I'm a little shit. Snitches get stitches hoe." The two then, but before they do Lilith remembers that One Kinda Important Plot Point: The Debriefing. Not-Christian Grey says "oh yeah that," and then they go through a back door guarded by a code. That Not-Christian Grey knows. What the Fuck. How the hell does he know the pass code? WHY does he know the pass code? Don't give me that shit of, "well he's a local billionaire, why wouldn't he know?!" Bill Gates is the Richest Man Alive, but do you think every art gallery in the world hands out their secret pass codes for after-hours browsing? I don't care how much money you can afford to wipe your ass with, it's a major security risk. Who the hell approved this? Are they a member of his clan? Does this make him a Not-Toreador? Fuck off game. Lilith and Not-Christian Grey take a ride down to the basement where they meet some 14th century-dressed fuck. No, I'm not joking. There is a literal 14th century guy there in his 14th century attire, and how no one outside of this secret society has not bumped into this gent before I do not know and the game certainly does not provide a logical explanation. It's vampires in a story, dammit! So What's-His-Fuck asks if Lilith is her for her Debriefing and Not-Christian Grey looks to her for an answer. Lilith finally asks the question, "what's involved?" and discovers that it's a euphemism for having your mind wiped. Not-Christian Grey asks her again if this is what she wants, and we've arrived to the point in which the game is now fucked. She says no. Like a dumbass. Her reasoning is that this is the most alive she has ever felt and she basically wants to gather her party and venture forth. And they all just roll with it. What. You mean to tell me that a centuries kept secret (at least in the New World, a later chapter will explain this) can simply be put at risk all because some stupid twat wasn't smart enough to stay the hell away from the obvious danger? You mean to tell me that New York vampire society, a place that is surrounded and well-supplied with nearly every decadence available is willing to hand-wave it all and say, "well guys, we can't mind wipe her because it won't be consensual!" Was that a term in your dumbass Compact? Does no one think this is a horrible idea, or at least enough to say, "fuck what you want, this is a masquerade violation"? When the fuck did vampires care about consent? I get when you have thralls, feeding is a lot easier but fucking hell, you mean to tell me that there's never an instance where they're away and didn't pack a lunch? Do they buy blood from the blood banks? Who controls the blood bank? DOES anyone control the blood bank? That would seem like a pretty handy thing to have, or is that considered off-limits by your stupid Compact? It may not seem like much now, but trust me it gets worse once you meet... Well, I don't want to spoil it just yet. Long story short, the answer to all of this is convenience, and damn, it doesn't get better from here. Anyway, back to the "plot." So Not-Christian Grey thinks it's a bad idea but doesn't give a shit because the vampire boner is strong with this one and he just goes along with it. The two eventually part ways and Lilith crashes back at her place. She's so exhausted by the days events that she doesn't wake until the next night. Not-Heather Poe then informs Lilith that her girlfriend got back with her ex, and that she feels like shit. Honestly, Not-Heather Poe likely going to be the most relatable character in this game. Just a heads up. Lilith decides to do an actual smart and decent thing and takes Not-Heather Poe out for a night of getting shitfaced via tequila shots. Well, if you paid diamonds, that is. Not-Heather Poe and Lilith proceed to get shitfaced and shittalk her new ex and the chapter ends with a strange man watching them. I'm sure he won't be relevant to the plot what so ever.

"The Culture of Hotaji Oasis" There is a village of the Hotaji tribe stretched around the picturesque eponymous oasis. The ancient traditions of the tribe was fully preserved thanks to deep isolation from the outside world. Hence the architecture of the village and many other elements of ancient culture survived to this day in this Divines-forsaken place. The gods of Hotaji are very similar to their traditional images, which further strengthens the assumption of their ancient origin. The use the word "Tomo" for their gods, which means "nature", "law". All gods together are called "Ratomo" ("strong laws"), and the chief deity of their pantheon, the ancestor of all other gods, is also named Ratomo, which can be translated as "Great god". The current head of the pantheon is Ramangai, sun god who grants life. His right hand is young Tomei, who's helping the souls of the dead to find their way into another world. Utatori is the secret keeper who separates the permitted knowledge from the forbidden. The great warrior Ransei protects from the enemies and guides hunters to strike a sure hit. Mo-G'yetang, Ransei's brother, is the patron of all skilled men. Ratomo's wife is Tavadotomo, our familiar goddess of fertility and sky, not quite different from her modern version. She is assisted by beautiful JitÅndo, the goddess of art and harmony, and the wise goddess Tuenara, the Hearthkeeper. Kept aloof are Noroigura, trickster god who is treated as the cause of all troubles, and evil Syatokashi, the master of storms, hurricanes, and droughts, the one who wishes to sow only destruction. The elder of the tribe, the only one who knows our language, has told me this legend. "At the beginning of time we all, the gods, the people, lived on a large flat boat in the midst of the waves. It was because there was only one small island in the sea, which had not enough space to even one family. However, everyone lived happily. Chief Ratomo and his wife Tavadotomo gave life to other gods and men, and sharp-sighted Ramangai saw to it that the sun was not too bright and not tortured anyone with thirst. But then the greedy Noroigura decided that the life was not good enough, and the pitching was too severe. He persuaded the skilful Mo-G'yetang to dismantle the ship and build from it the large multi-tiered Pagoda on the island. This place was named Hotaji, and everyone began to live there. "But the evil god Syatokashi sighted the Pagoda from afar and decided to devour anyone who lived there. The seer Utatori revealed the plan and warned the wise mistress Tuenara. Tuenara judged that it was necessary to break the Pagoda, before Hotaji was found by Syatokashi. She persuaded the beautiful JitÅndo to share a night with the great warrior Ransei so he would agree to destroy the Pagoda, because it was possible only to his strength. Tavadotomo caused rain to slow down Syatokashi, as Ransei came to the Pagoda and was going to strike it with his sword. But he was impeded by Noroigura who felt sorry for the Pagoda, and the sword pierced Noroigura's heart. Noroigura didn't die, because at the time no one knew the concept of death, but his spilled blood softened the island soil, and the Pagoda collapsed. Without the old boat, everyone was going to sink down and would have lived on the sea floor, but the greedy Noroigura grabbed one of splinters, and the other gods and men followed his example when they saw that he is a-floating. "For long years, men-of-hotaji drifted slowly on the waves. During this time the god Tomei was born to JitÅndo and Ransei. Tomei didn't know a happy life yet, and therefore he decided to lead the oldest and worthiest people to the sky, believing that the better life awaits there. Many years later, the waves drove men-of-hotaji upon the far shores. The Hotaji, with no Ratomo left among them by this time (even Tomei was spending more and more time at the sky), went deep into the desert, deciding that they will be able to hide there from the devastating Syatokashi. Besides, everyone was heartily sick of pitching. Since then, they live near the oasis, which gives everything necessary for a happy life. And no one is building pagodas more than two palm trees in height."
