      Orphan Attachments   07/31/2018

I have been doing some housekeeping lately and I've noticed that I had a lot of orphaned attachments. Attachments get orphaned when the PM or post is deleted without removing the attachment first. Deleting a PM or post does not delete the attachment and the file or image remain on the server. I'd like to ask all members to go through their attachments and delete any attachments you don't need anymore or those that have been orphaned. Where can I get a list of my attachments? Click on your display name in the upper right corner of the forums and pick "My Attachments" from the drop-down list. How can I tell an attachment is orphaned? If the PM has been deleted, you'll see a message like this in your attachment list: Unfortunately there is no message if the post has been deleted, so please check your old posts. We do purge old birthday threads every once in a while. Also some hosted projects have been shut down, so you may have orphaned attachments on one of those locations. Thanks!

    Cat Show Tails

As I’m sure many of you know by now, I breed pedigree cats. Our purpose is to maintain and promote the breed. Part of that process is to enter our little darlings in cat shows where they can be judged and hopefully win awards. The big difference between dog and cat shows is that with cat shows, we can’t run around a ring with our cats on leads. I wish we could! There are several cat breeds that will happily walk on a leash. In fact, it’s pretty much a requirement for Bengals and Savannas, which need a lot of exercise and stimulation. However the one thing I think all cat breeds have in common is their independence. They’ll walk on a leash, but where they want to go, not where you want them to go. So while it would be very entertaining, it would be chaos to have a bunch of cats walking around on leads. They would also fight. We’ve had two shows within a month which gave me the opportunity to show all my cats. The first show was in Niagara Falls as part of the Pet Expo. It was two days, running on a weekend. The second show was in Belleville and was only a one day show since it coincided with the awards banquet, which took place on Saturday. Now I’ll use the pictures we took from the shows to explain the structure, what the judges are looking for and show you the expressions on my cats’ faces as they tolerated the judging process. First, let's start with the Pet Expo floor in Niagara Falls: From that view, the cat show area was in the top right. The next picture is the cat show area. This show had four rings, or judging areas. All the participants are in show cages, or kennels on tables. Some shows will provide cages, but they aren't very good, so it's best to buy your own. We prefer the soft-side collapsible kennels, like the burgundy one at the front in the picture below. Show Mechanics To show your cat, they must be registered with the organization running the show. In this case, that's the Canadian Cat Association (CCA). Even household pets can be registered and shown and we regularly get quite a few people doing that. Then you fill out the entry form for the show. Once your entry is confirmed, you are assigned a number for each cat (or kitten). When you arrive at the show, you're given a catalogue that lists all the registrants and the show schedule. You look for the category for your cats so you know where you need to go and listen to the announcements for when your cats are called to the ring. Each cage in the ring will have a number on top and you place your cat in the appropriate cage. Judging Pedigree cats are judged based on their conformity to the breed standard. Each breed has a published standard and one of the really interesting tasks as a breeder is trying to judge how well your six week old kitten adheres to the standard. They change a lot and all breeders will tell you about the stories when they sold a champion. You just hope that when you do, at least you sold him or her with breeding rights and not as a pet! If you think you have a high quality champion, you want to keep that animal in your cattery and have them as part of your breeding program. In addition to the standard, cats are also judging on grooming and personality. Cat shows are beauty pageants and some cats just don't perform well in shows. My queen, Ada, is a perfect example. She hates shows and doesn't perform well. She is also small, so some judges may feel that she doesn't conform to the standard. The breed standard for British Shorthairs doesn't say anything about overall size, just that everything should be in proportion and they should have a cobby body. Cats are judged by multiple judges because each judge has different things that they consider important. Champion Status This only applies to pedigree cats. Once your cat has been judged by four judges and has not been disqualified by any of the four, you cat attains his Champion status. After that, he needs to beat out other Champions to gain points towards his Grand Champion status. Once he's attained that, he needs to beat other Grand Champions to earn his Double Grand Champion. After that, it's Master Grand Champion and then finally Supreme Master Grand Champion. You need to attend a lot of shows for several years to attain the higher ranks. Now let's get back to pictures! Once our numbers were called, Jimi and I took our cats to the ring and put them in their judging cages. Male cats are always separated by female cats or empty cages to prevent fights. Then the judge takes each cat of the cage and brings her to the judging table. Here's Curie being judged: Sharon is checking the proportion of Curie's ears and head. Curie's cage is number 22 in the background. Kyra was number 23, Kyan was 24 and Pascal was 25. It was Kyra and Kyan who did the best at the Niagara Falls show. Here are some pictures of Kyra being judged: The judges liked Kyra's rare colour and the quality of her coat. She also has a nice round face. As you can see, Kyan just wishes this was over. One of the judges checked Kyan's testicles (to make sure they've dropped) and so after that, he tucked his tail between his legs when each judge picked him up. One judge laughed and said "You'll get the hang of this". The judge checked him because technically, he's still a kitten. They don't do that with adults because if there was a problem, they couldn't breed. Anyway Kyan did very well. He has a nice plush coat that's very soft as well. His face needs to fill out more and if it doesn't, we'll get him neutered and keep him as a pet. Finally here are some pictures of Pascal. Pascal is an interesting case because his body is very good for a British Shorthair, but his markings aren't true. He's listed as a Silver Ticked Tabby, but he has some spots. Not enough spots to be called a Silver Spotted Tabby however. So he won't do well with any judge that knows their colours and markings, but not all judges do. He was ranked highest by one judge who felt body structure was the most important factor. Once the judges have seen all the cats for each breed, they start awarding ribbons. Here is Curie, Kyra and Kyan with the ribbons on their cages: They all get the red and green ribbons because they were the only British Shorthair cats in the show this time around and they all had different colours. The judge in this case awarded Kyan with best of breed and Kyra got second best of breed. None of that means points however. The really important part is when each judge picks their favourites among all shorthair cats and among all breeds. All breed means all cats, no matter their breed. Overall Standings Here are the awards my cats won at the Niagara Falls show: Curie - 7th best All Breed Kyra - 10th best Shorthair, 8th best All Breed, 9th best All Breed Kyan - 8th best All Breed, 5th best All Breed, 9th best All Breed, 10th best All Breed, 8th best Shorthair Pascal - 7th best All Breed There were eight judges in total and every single judge chose at least one of my cats in their finals rings. Here are some pictures showing the plaques they won on their kennel ribbons: That's Pascal and Kyan sharing a kennel and the picture below has Curie and Kyra sharing the other kennel. That concludes the Niagara Falls cat show. Thanks for reading! If you got this far, you deserve a medal.

    Dark Creations is Shutting Down?

I found the thread via the Wayback Machine. http://web.archive.org/web/20161101110946/http://www.darkcreations.org/forums/topic/1424-occupy-blackreach/ If I were you I would definitely repost the thread here or on AFK Mods or on both sites since it has to do with your LAL mod. Perhaps add that to Nexus Wiki as well, just what LHammonds did with Wrye's "BUG in Oblivion.exe" thread.

The most Restless Night of Sleep Ever!

There's definitely GOG support for OBSE. You just have to download its own particular "latest" loader. It works great. Oblivion from GOG has no DRM, no overlays, it's already LAA so you don't have to use the 4gb patcher, it includes all DLC, and you can get it for $10 if it's on sale. It's a no-brainer for people who don't own Oblivion yet, and even for people that do I still suggest it highly.

    Kitties!!

Older Brits are like that. They just love the attention and will purr away. One time when I took one of my old Brits, Britannia, to the vet, she was purring while the vet was trying to listen to her heart. The vet had to put a dab of alcohol on her nose to make her stop purring. Just a minute ago, I heard the fans in my computer really ramp up and I was wondering what was making them run so hard. One of the kittens was sleeping on the radiator!!!

    [RELz] Elsweyr Anequina

To be fair, mod development is still going on. I release it in a piecemeal manner, copying what Iliana has done for her mod. Regardless, I will provide all Elsweyr mod support in the forum while there is still development going on, and once it's done, I'll ask for the support thread to be moved to this forum and I will provide my support as long as I'm still in the modding scene. Like Iliana said, I know everything that is to do with Elsweyr after working with it for so long. I'd be the best person to come to, for all Elsweyr support.

Dura gra-Bol's House Reclaimed - And the Grab-All Gang View File This mod started as a simple house mod and expanded into an entire smuggling faction questline - while still allowing you to choose the high road and be rewarded for killing Dura as instructed. Get to work with Larrius Varro again as he sticks his nose into more of Vvardenfell's dirty business. Or choose the profitable path of a smuggler and climb the ranks from a meager Amateur to the Boss. Earn dirty money. Or kill those dirty money-makers. Rent a house from the biggest druglord on Vvardenfell. Or legally purchase your new home and wipe the slate clean. Adds a non-faction method of starting the Dura gra-Bol bounty quest: talk to Larrius Varro after completing his Bloodbath quest. He’ll give a larger bounty (Fighters Guild takes a percentage) but no faction reputation Adds option to spare Dura gra-Bol if you accept her deal If you decide to kill Dura gra-Bol, you can purchase her house. It’ll be renamed so you can wipe that criminal’s name from your memory and your items won’t be marked as stolen from the containers any longer. You’ll also get a few extras in the house if you go this route like a “Realistic Repair”-ready anvil in your armory along with some housewarming gifts (mostly booze because, let’s be honest, what else would you really want?). Dura offers the player a business proposition to cover up her smuggling operations. Become the formal Head of Operations for a local smuggling gang and collect your weekly cut (assuming some corrupt official doesn’t need to be paid off). Rise in the ranks of a new smuggling faction. From an amatuer to a smuggling boss. Complete illicit quests for Dura to earn bonuses. Earn a larger weekly cut of the profits by completing quests and climbing the criminal ladder. Have the lease to Dura’s house transferred into your name and assume residency. The layout and features of Dura’s house has been overhauled. Still not extravagant, but matches the exterior better and adds a basement for additional storage. Clear the smugglers out of the sinkhole below your new home and maybe find some hidden secrets in your new cave. See if you can find the rat hole! Customers in Balmora want more than just skooma and moon sugar; find some unique cursed items among the contraband. Including one which will take you somewhere unexpected... Adds the sleepy fishing village of Bo-muul to a new island in the Bitter Coast which is more than it appears. Depending on which side you take, either work with the smugglers living in Bo-muul or cleanse it entirely with another Bloodbath sponsored by Larrius Varro. Get involved with political intrigue as the corruption of Hlaalu officials come into the light. Acquire a magical belt which was unobtainable in the original game if you choose the right path. Discover that Larrius Varro is a member of the religious Talos Cult. If you side with Dura, use that information against him! Explore a new area of Arkngthand teeming with new types of Centurions standing between you and those profitable dwemer artifacts! Fixes the dialogue entries which refer to Dura gra-Bol as a “he” (perhaps those commoners can be excused, it’s a common mistake with orcs) Lightweight, 100% vanilla mod. To start the new questline, either get to the Fighters Guild stage with Eydis Fire-Eye where you're sent to kill Dura gra-Bol, or complete Larrius Varro's Bloodbath quest to get the bounty quest from him and then talk to Dura before you gut her. If you decide to side with Dura, just keep following that questline. If you decide to kill Dura after all, talk to Larrius Varro to get some more work. [WIPz] Unofficial Morrowind Patch

Hello. I've just heard that this patch has recently become active again. ThePal made a critical error a long time ago by adding the unfiltered "Who's there?" line to UMP/MPP after Bethesda had fixed the original one. The "Who's there?" epidemic pops up every couple of months at Tamriel Rebuilt and I wrote an analysis here: https://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/content/whos-there-not-knock-knock-joke-sadly The line added by UMP/MPP really needs to go (or at least it should be filtered to not ruin games), it adds a bug back that Bethesda removed by limiting the damage its dodgy NPC Detected function causes to one NPC.

    [RELz] Oblivion XP

The section I told you to read explains it. It’s not a problem. The skill cost goes up as your character attains higher levels of mastery. Novice level skills are the base cost, apprentice level cost 1 point more and so on. It also depends on whether you chose the specialization or “jack of all trades” setting.

A thread of Uniformity Mods for Morrowind Gameplay vs. Text Over the years of playing Morrowind, I've noticed how many things which you read in books or are said through dialogue are inconsistent with what actually appears in gameplay. There have been many mods made which address a lot of these inconsistencies, either taking the form of bug fixes or lore-friendly additions to the game world. The goal of this thread is to make a list of all of these incongruities and list mods which address those issues. Modders can consider this thread a source for ideas, while players can consider this thread a place to share inconsistencies you have discovered with others and find potential mods to add to their playlist. For example, Savants will tell you this about Ald Redaynia: We know from gameplay that the only thing at Ald Redaynia is the ruined Wizard Tower. However, there are two mods which aim to address this inconsistency between dialogue and gameplay: Ald Redaynia Extended and Redaynia Village (my personal choice of the two) Please note, that I'm not stating that the way the gameplay turned out is automatically wrong if it disagrees with text, but it is oftentimes less interesting. With that introduction out of the way, let me get the thread started with my list of findings. The thread will be divided into several different categories: Inconsistencies: Explicitly variant material; those things which are said to exist in dialogue or books but which do not appear or are not recognized in the game. Ineffectuals: Implicitly variant material; those things which aren't explicitly absent from the game but which are severely underdeveloped. Inferences: Conclusions drawn from underdeveloped or hinted at material. These are much more subjective. Take it or leave it. Information: Items of somewhat obscure information hidden in the game's text. Change log List of Inconsistencies Explicitly variant material List of Ineffectuals Implicitly variant material List of Inferences Conclusions drawn from underdeveloped or hinted at material List of Information Obscure information >>> Please share your own experience with inconsistencies here in this thread! <<< >>> Please follow the format I have used when posting: quotation, issue, solution (if applicable) <<< >>> Feel free to use this thread for discussion of the lists in this post or lists posted by other members. <<< >>> If you know of or make any mods which address these items (or items which are not listed), please share here! <<<

I'm back working on DBC. I've already squashed a bunch of bugs and have added a new option for completing a certain nasty contract that I think people will really like. The last quest in Awakening needs to be rewritten in preparation for Consequences so you'll need to play through the mod again if you've finished it already. Sorry about that, but with the fixes and the voice acting, hopefully you'll be keen to check it out again. The big fixes in this release involve preventing some changes DBC makes to certain characters from kicking in too soon. If you have Awakening in your load order now, I recommend removing it and waiting for the new release, unless you're partway through the quest line already. If you are, stop playing before you have to turn in the dagger. There was a logic loophole that I missed previously. I've also fixed up our locations so they can either be visited before the mod starts or they are inaccessible, using various methods to hide them. I've also balanced the goodies out a bit more. Some chests were grossly overpowered and I've corrected that, while a big dungeon with a certain vampire didn't have enough goodies. I've also added a bit of "backstory" by making a location available to visit and clear before DBC starts. Then when the associated DBC quest does start, the state of the dungeon makes more sense.

You’ll need to install Awakening anew and play through it again when I release the new version. There are some major bug fixes and I have to change the final quest on both sides in preparation for Consequences. I am working on DBC again, when time permits.

    [RELz] Tales of Cyrodiil

Tales of Cyrodiil View File Name: Tales of Cyrodiil Version: 1.03 Date: 2019-01-07 Category: Quests Author: Cliffworms ================= Requirements: ================= Oblivion 1.2.416 Oblivion Script Extender Homepage: http://obse.silverlock.org Elys Universal Silent Voice DarNified UI (with the option for smaller fonts) or any similar mod that reduces the fonts' size ================= Description: ================= "Some of the greatest adventures have had their starts in smoky, noisy taverns." - The Daggerfall Manual, p.58 Tales of Cyrodiil adds 14 quests for you to embark on. These adventures are inspired by some of Daggerfall's side quests you can get from innkeepers and shopkeepers. Unlike Daggerfall, the Tales of Cyrodiil are unique and not randomly generated. Also, I've greatly expanded them by adding new outcomes, dialogues and ways to complete them. ================= Details: ================= The quest givers can be found in most of Cyrodiil's cities. One can be found in a roadside tavern. Asking about rumors in town may lead you to adventures. Want to know where to find the quest givers? Check the bottom of the document. Quests vary from the classic "fetch me this" to more complex adventures, though even the most basic have a lot of dialogue to make them interesting and have multiple ways to complete them. Impersonate a coward at a duel, lend a hand to a noble who mistakenly gifted fake gold ingots to his contacts, lift the curse from a wraith's skeletal hand, help a noblewoman in preventing her husband's ransom... or betray her and save him, and more. In addition to the quests, completing vanilla Oblivion's quests will increase or decrease your disposition towards NPCs and factions, depending on how you complete them. For example, taking care of our favorite paranoid Wood Elf in Skingrad will net you a better reputation with the town's citizens, in particular with the three people the Wood Elf targeted. On the opposite, botching a Thieves Guild job will lower your disposition with your guildmates and probably the factions linked to that quest, if any. Note that these changes are done in a separate script, meaning that no changes have been done to Oblivion's vanilla scripts, therefore making this compatible with mods that change Oblivion's quests. ================= Quest mechanics ================= - Time limit Most quests must be completed in a limited time. Some are days, others are weeks. Bandits won't hold someone hostage foverer. You'll always be informed of the time limit. Failing to complete the quest in time will result in failure. - No essential NPCs. No essential items Indeed, most of the related quests' NPCs can die and most quest items can be dropped or sold. For most quests, the death of quest NPCs will result in failure. Don't worry though. The NPCs stay inside cities so the only way they could die is if you had a hand in it. For items, you'll always be able to tell the NPC you lost the quest item, resulting again in a failure...but that could be a lie and it'd allow you to keep the items for yourself. - Skill checks in dialogue In most quests, you can bargain your reward using Mercantile. You may also be able to use Speechcraft. To identify skill checks, you will see [M] or [ S ] before your answer, for Mercantile and Speechcraft, respectively. Having Luck of 60 or more helps with skill checks. - Voiceless, choice-based dialogue Most of the quest dialogue is choice-based, allowing you to ask questions about the task, accept or refuse it and bargain your reward. Some topics are also added when, for example, you ask around for directions to one of the NPCs or a location. Finally, all the new dialogue is not voice acted. - Pre-quest, present-quest and post-quest rumors People will have rumors to say before the quest, during the quest and after the quest. They vary depending on the outcome, if you fail or succeed the quest. - On the importance of faction relations Some of the quests have optional paths if you are a specific faction member or if you have good relations with them. For example, in A Noble's Debts, being a Thieves Guild member or having good relations with them will allow you to receive a letter from the Guild to give you hints on where the lost loan is located. - No new dungeons or locations Quests NPCs are placed inside the game's cities and the quests take place inside vanilla locations only. The dungeons used for those quests are existing Oblivion dungeons that have no quest linked to them. This allows for greater compatibility, preventing conflicts with mods that add new locations or change the landscapes. - Rewards Most quests reward the player with gold, others give not too powerful magical items. All quests give a faction relation bonus/malus with the city in which the quest takes place or the factions that were implicated in the quest. For example, helping a nobleman from Cheydinhal will give you better disposition with the nobility in general and the people of Cheydinhal. On the opposite, botching a quest or betraying your quest giver if the opportunity arises will drop your disposition with the related factions. After all, the quest giver will talk about how good or bad you did his job with his friends and neighbors. - Difficulty Most quests use Oblivion's leveling system for difficulty as I believe it easier for balance. Some NPCs are fixed, though. Overhauls that changes Oblivion's default leveled lists for equipment will work with Tales of Cyrodiil. - Oblivion XP integration Users of Oblivion XP will be rewarded for completing quests, succeeding at skill checks in dialogue and will receive a small amount for failing quests. - Optional quest markers By default, quest markers for Tales of Cyrodiil's quests are disabled. Sufficient descriptions and directions are given to find a location or an NPC. If you still want to use quest markers, you will have the option on the first quest you accept. If you change your mind afterwards, open the console window and input the following command : set TOCConfig.QuestMarkers to 1 ======================== Incompatibility/Compatibility: ======================== Compatible : Open Cities/Open Cities Reborn Better Dungeons Snu's Dungeons Unique Landscapes Productive Mines Oblivion Uncut (minor conflict with the quest To Assist the Fate. Needless to say, Iminda wants to put a stop to those rumors and is looking for an investigator to find the source of those false spreadings. =Bravil= -A Mix Up- (Fame/Infamy >= 10 or Hero of Kvatch/Master of Fighters Guild/Arena Grand Champion/Mages Guild Arch-Mage required) A Khajiit has had his emerald stolen by someone... who looks like you! Could it be really you? =Cheydinhal= -Counterfeit Gold- A nobleman's friend had the brilliant idea of giving him false gold bricks as a gift. That nobleman had the even more brilliant idea of giving them away to his allies. The problem is, he has now realized they were fake and they've already been given away. Retrieve at least one of them and you will be rewarded. Retrieve them all and you'll be handsomely rewarded. -The Daedric Stone- An Altmer sorceress is searching for a daedric lodestone for her research. Her assistant, another Altmer, arrived in Cheydinhal to hire someone brave enough to recover it from Ayleid ruins filled with conjurers and daedra. The dremora guarding it may have another plan in mind...who will you trust? =Chorrol= -To Assist the Fate- Noblewoman Morgorya Coppercroft received word that her good-for-nothing, cheating husband named Theodyn Coppercroft has been captured by bandits and held for ransom. Of course, Morgorya doesn't want to ransom Theodyn but his cousin wants to. You may complete this quest in multiple ways... =Imperial City= -The Telvanni Duel- At the Foaming Flask in the Imperial City, a furious Dark Elf from Sadrith Mora is causing a bit of a ruckus. He keeps drinking and challenging the unfortunate patrons to a duel. Will you be the one to accept his challenge? -A Noble's Debts- A merchant loaned gold to a nobleman under the condition that the merchant keeps a deed to a valuable piece of property. Now, the nobleman vanished without a trace and the deed was stolen. This has hit the merchant's finances pretty hard and he seeks someone to find the deed, retrieve the loaned gold or, if all fails, find the nobleman. -The Wraith's Hand- A very anxious man is looking for a courier to deliver a skeletal relic to a priest. Rumors say this hand used to belong to a vengeful spirit who still wanders Tamriel looking for it... =Leyawiin= -The Ransom- Argonian Kal-Ma of Leyawiin is beyond herself with grief. Her husband has been captured by the Thieves Guild and those good-for-nothing outlaws are asking a ransom or they will kill their hostage. Will you use fighting, diplomacy or wits to solve the case? =Skingrad= -A Rare Book- An Argonian savant in Skingrad would like to hire an adventurer to recover the ancient tome "Vampires of the Illiac Bay" from Ayleid ruins nearby. -The Switcheroo- Browen, a down-on-her-luck traveling merchant staying at the Two Sisters Lodge in Skingrad, has been betrayed by her former business partner. Indeed, Browen was going to warn the authorities when she discovered that her partner was involved in smuggling. In fact, her partner hired a courier to deliver false accusations about Browen to Wayrest's Guild of Merchants. Browen is looking for someone to intercept the courier before he reaches Wayrest and sneak in a letter in his backpack denouncing her partner and remove the false accusations about her. Will you be quick enough? =Wilderness= -The Barbarian Duel- At the Imperial Bridge Inn, an Orc Barbarian is seeking an opponent for a duel to the death. Needless to say, nobody, even the drunk Imperial Guard who visits the inn, has accepted. -An Unexpected Journey- A Wood Elf staying at Bleaker's Way's inn is seeking an adventurer for an unknown but certainly dangerous task given by his master. The master promises 500 gold to the adventurer who will complete this mysterious task. Will you be the one? Submitter Cliffworms Submitted 09/13/2018 Category Quests

    Craftybits 0.812 Bug Reports

The model's hatch window is translucent in-game, but only enough for movement of the steam and fire effect from the Fire Salts to be vaguely discernable through it. It's dark enough inside that no one could identify whether or not there's food. It's easy to just delete the AlphaProperty node in NifSkope to get rid of that, though. I could make it so it could be opened, I think...probably. I've never worked with making hinge animations. Certainly not during the busy season with my job, unfortunately...and even then, Oblivion's collision is too wonky to put food on the grate inside without weird bouncing.

It would be very interesting to make it compatible with Oblivion XP. Could I award XP points for skill checks? What do I need to do? I could add the lines to make it compatible before sending it to you. This way, you'd be able to doublecheck if the XPs are given correctly as well. Thanks for the suggestion!

Okay, so I can safely say that the mod is fully fuctional, and I was able to do a speedrun through a vast area with Speed 100 without any CTDs. So this weekend I'll be packaging up the beta release.

All of the major cities are fully accessible, now that I...found the other half of Southpoint that I somehow missed the first time around. I had to completely change the layout I already had to fit everything in... x.x There’s a few caves and settlements I need to level out tonight. Envy gave me permission to use the living wood houses from Valenwood Islands, but I’m not going to worry about those for this initial release. Otherwise I’ll never be able to release the darn thing. Now I see why Haldar abandoned the TWMP_ValenwoodImproved mod I used as the template for this! Q_Q

    TWMP Elsweyr Valenwood Improved WIP

Ponyrider0 on the Tesrenewal forum created a Tes4edit script that can resynchronize disconnected LAND and PTGD records, so that quickened things exceptionally. The .esp is “done”, in that all the major cities are accessible and most of the dungeons & settlements are accessible. The new path grid set isn’t done though, so NPCs will probably wander against walls and stuff. I’ll release a Very Beta Beta sometime this week, I hope. Also almost done adding collision to Eressea’s Bosmer Tree City kit that I converted for @Sifonseal last year sometime

    Cat Show Tails

Belleville Show I took my last two cats, Ada and Darwin, to the Belleville show. It was only a one day show because there was an awards banquet Saturday night. Darwin doesn't get along with most of the other cats, so it is difficult for us to travel with him. We'd need two hotel rooms! Ada tolerated him for one night, so it wasn't too bad. Just a bit of hissing and growling. Ada was the one doing the hissing and growling. Darwin is scared of her even though he's literally twice as big as her. The show venue was the Quinte Curling Club. Yes, how typically Canadian. It was a lot quieter, but a lot of people dropped by to see the cats. There were six judging rings. Here's a picture of Ada being judged: This was her first show in two years and she wasn't any happier this time than she was last time. She has a good structure, with a nice round head and face, but she's small. She doesn't quite have the cobby body judges are looking for. However she produces excellent kittens. Darwin stole the show, as we hoped. He's the perfect British Shorthair. The judges loved him and he earned lots of awards. He needs to relax and show more personality. That's a work in progress because he was mistreated in the past. We're still teaching him how to play. Here are a couple of pics of him being judged: The judge in the above picture really liked him and awarded him Best Shorthair Champion and 2nd Best All Breed Champion. This judge put him up to the scratching post and he obligingly grabbed it. You can see how big his paws are in that picture. Lastly here's a picture of Darwin in the judging cage showing his 7th Best Shorthair Cat award from the above judge: He's a real contrast to the Exotic Shorthair cat on the right side and the Devon Rex on the left. Exotic Shorthair are basically Siamese cats in different colours. Both cats are very skinny with long bodies and long legs - the exact opposite of a Brit. Darwin's Awards: 7th Best Shorthair Cat Best Shorthair Champion 2nd Best Shorthair Cat 2nd Best All Breed Champion 3rd Best All Breed Cat 9th Best Shorthair Cat 2nd Best Shorthair Champion 4th Best All Breed Cat 2nd Best All Breed Champion There are no duplicates: he got the same award from several judges. Our next show will be the Canadian National Exhibition show at the end of August. This will be my "home" show as we live just north of the CNE so I'd like to take all my cats if I can.

[WIP] FOMO World Map - Tamriel And Beyond

With Sifonseal's permission, I'm sharing a GIMP file of his FOMO map that can be exported and used in Dynamic Map. I put some of the new lands on his map into new layers; that way you can hide the layers for the lands you don't use before exporting as a DDS and putting it in your game. It's not as slick as Dynamic Map's functionality, but Sifonseal's is perhaps the best-looking, most complete map of Tamriel there is, and this way you can put it in your game! (There's probably a fairly easy way to do this in Dynamic Maps itself, but I haven't taken the time to figure it out and don't know that I will.) Here's what you need: GIMP, which is an open-source image editor like Photoshop Dynamic Map. Install the Core and Tamriel Heightmaps folders using Wrye Bash. Here's what to do: Download the file and open it in GIMP. Open the "Layer - Brushes" window. Click the open-eye icon to hide the elements of the map you don't want to use. You can click the same spot to show them again. Under the "Image" menu, click "Merge Visible Layers." Under the "File" menu, click "Export." Change the file's name to "FOMO Tamriel.dds" and click "Export". Dismiss the warning about not being able to write a volume map. Under the "Compression" menu, choose "BC2 / DXT3." Move the "FOMO Tamriel.dds" file to the /textures/menus/DynamicMap/ folder in your Oblivion Data folder. Open the Dynamic Map.ini file, found in /Data/Ini. Select all, then paste the following into the document, then save. 8. Run Archive Invalidation, just to be safe. It seemed like it was necessary for the new map to take. I may make a new version to put a few other areas, like Sutch or Coldstone, into layers, so this map has even more options. Do mention if you have any other ideas! Here's that link again: FOMO Tamriel.xcf

Over a month ago I assembled a new PC. Intel i7-7700k, Nvidia GTX1070, 16gb DDR4-3000 ram and so on. Since then I've been slowly amassing what I call my "experimental Oblivion install," in which I intent to push graphics to the breaking point with hi-res textures, Oblivion Reloaded, an ENB, extra UL modules and so on. (My long established over 2k hour Oblivion seconded play-through remains intact on what is now my secondary computer.) It remains very much a work-in-progress, with a number of visual issues to be resolved or at least minimized. Plus, I've had to back out of a few very desirable new additions due to conflicts with old favorites for which no patch seems to exist. Be that as it may, will showcase a few (?) images representing the best of my progress thus far: A scenic early daylight view of the Imperial Isle near the Prison Sewer Exit. The face seen here and following shots doesn't not necessarily reflect what the OCOv2 version of my decrepit avatar will end up looking like, assuming this build morphs into an honest play-through, which might not happen. Note too that I'm not yet totally satisfied with free-standing grasses. Exploring Vilverin. I use a combo of Cava Obscura, Real Lights, OR and an ENB, which makes interior very dark indeed. So dark a torch (or spell) is mandatory for "dungeon" crawls. I like realistic darkness, while admitting that in one aspect it makes the game unrealistic...carrying a torch in the dark SHOULD announce my avatar's presence to every enemy anywhere reasonably close by. I've used these particular HD interior textures so many years I no longer recall who made them. Imperial City Market District. Imperial City Arena District. A mundane issue...being used to HD textures throughout IC, the blurry stone to the left of the guardsman's immediate left bugs me to no end. A nighttime view of Elven Gardens District. As with interiors, I prefer a dark night sky. The Imperial Sewers. Betty's Sewer Textures, wet variant, possibly my favorite interior textures. At present OR sewer water is all but invisible in-game. I just recently got wind of a way to possibly correct this. Near Fort Uresek. My OCOv2 avatar has recently crossed Lake Rumare via Imperial Isle East Bridge (Roads of Cyrodiil) and, just prior to this capture, killed a wolf. From here he will enter and clear the ruin, gathering decent loot in the process. I intended to observed him continue on to Cheydinhal afterward. Alas, it was not to be. He handled the bandit at the first ambush point alone the Blue with relative ease. The same can not be said for the black bear encountered a bit further east. It wasn't even close! As this build doesn't not yet make saves beyond one just prior to the Imperial Prison Sewer Exit, it was game over with no point in reloading. Exploring Ancient Yews forest. Further forest exploration. I never used this UL module prior to the experimental build, and obviously missed out on some very nice scenery. I'm going to re-evaluate several other UL modules bypassed in the past, plus maybe audition a few Hesu Collection modules provided they conflict with nothing already installed or come with appropriate patches.

    [WIP] PRISM of Hammerfell

"The Culture of Hotaji Oasis" There is a village of the Hotaji tribe stretched around the picturesque eponymous oasis. The ancient traditions of the tribe was fully preserved thanks to deep isolation from the outside world. Hence the architecture of the village and many other elements of ancient culture survived to this day in this Divines-forsaken place. The gods of Hotaji are very similar to their traditional images, which further strengthens the assumption of their ancient origin. The use the word "Tomo" for their gods, which means "nature", "law". All gods together are called "Ratomo" ("strong laws"), and the chief deity of their pantheon, the ancestor of all other gods, is also named Ratomo, which can be translated as "Great god". The current head of the pantheon is Ramangai, sun god who grants life. His right hand is young Tomei, who's helping the souls of the dead to find their way into another world. Utatori is the secret keeper who separates the permitted knowledge from the forbidden. The great warrior Ransei protects from the enemies and guides hunters to strike a sure hit. Mo-G'yetang, Ransei's brother, is the patron of all skilled men. Ratomo's wife is Tavadotomo, our familiar goddess of fertility and sky, not quite different from her modern version. She is assisted by beautiful JitÅndo, the goddess of art and harmony, and the wise goddess Tuenara, the Hearthkeeper. Kept aloof are Noroigura, trickster god who is treated as the cause of all troubles, and evil Syatokashi, the master of storms, hurricanes, and droughts, the one who wishes to sow only destruction. The elder of the tribe, the only one who knows our language, has told me this legend. "At the beginning of time we all, the gods, the people, lived on a large flat boat in the midst of the waves. It was because there was only one small island in the sea, which had not enough space to even one family. However, everyone lived happily. Chief Ratomo and his wife Tavadotomo gave life to other gods and men, and sharp-sighted Ramangai saw to it that the sun was not too bright and not tortured anyone with thirst. But then the greedy Noroigura decided that the life was not good enough, and the pitching was too severe. He persuaded the skilful Mo-G'yetang to dismantle the ship and build from it the large multi-tiered Pagoda on the island. This place was named Hotaji, and everyone began to live there. "But the evil god Syatokashi sighted the Pagoda from afar and decided to devour anyone who lived there. The seer Utatori revealed the plan and warned the wise mistress Tuenara. Tuenara judged that it was necessary to break the Pagoda, before Hotaji was found by Syatokashi. She persuaded the beautiful JitÅndo to share a night with the great warrior Ransei so he would agree to destroy the Pagoda, because it was possible only to his strength. Tavadotomo caused rain to slow down Syatokashi, as Ransei came to the Pagoda and was going to strike it with his sword. But he was impeded by Noroigura who felt sorry for the Pagoda, and the sword pierced Noroigura's heart. Noroigura didn't die, because at the time no one knew the concept of death, but his spilled blood softened the island soil, and the Pagoda collapsed. Without the old boat, everyone was going to sink down and would have lived on the sea floor, but the greedy Noroigura grabbed one of splinters, and the other gods and men followed his example when they saw that he is a-floating. "For long years, men-of-hotaji drifted slowly on the waves. During this time the god Tomei was born to JitÅndo and Ransei. Tomei didn't know a happy life yet, and therefore he decided to lead the oldest and worthiest people to the sky, believing that the better life awaits there. Many years later, the waves drove men-of-hotaji upon the far shores. The Hotaji, with no Ratomo left among them by this time (even Tomei was spending more and more time at the sky), went deep into the desert, deciding that they will be able to hide there from the devastating Syatokashi. Besides, everyone was heartily sick of pitching. Since then, they live near the oasis, which gives everything necessary for a happy life. And no one is building pagodas more than two palm trees in height."
