And we're back! Work has resumed on this project.

This is a repost from 17/3/2012 from the Dark Creations forums which have been shut down as discussed in this other topic. -------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a visually enhanced travelogue about starting a character in a deadly environment and hopefully surviving with the application of wit, luck and shenanigans. In essence, it's just me trying something different and snapping pictures of it. I hope you'll find it interesting. First of all, there is a character that I used in Oblivion; a Breton necromancer whom I intended to be my 'evil' character; not the calculated kind of evil, nor cartoon villany. Just generally an asshole. A jerk. His name is Jerkan. Look at those eyeslits, those protruding lips, that arrogant well-kempt hair. In Oblivion, he had a subtle stubble which I can't replicate now, but he also gained those stripes on his forehead. Nice. Obviously, I'm using the Live Another Life mod. I intend to redundantly pick the option which I suggested to Arthmoor myself. While I could've used the old ini tweak + batch script method that I used to try it out to begin with, it's nice to feel validated sometimes. And away I go! This is Sinderion's Field Laboratory, if it weren't obvious. It's the only safe place in Blackreach, which is full of enemies I have no business fighting at my level, especially since I play on Master difficulty. Fortunately, there are some helpful items laying around. First of all though, I choose my starting spells, which is a feature included in Skyrim Improved Magic System. Alteration: Interestingly, you can pick the Feather spell, but I go for Oakflesh instead. Destruction: I figure Frostbite is my best bet for winning chases. Conjuration: Raise Zombie is tempting, but that will never work in this place, so I choose Conjure Skeleton instead. Restoration: Necromancers always seem to love wards, but I pick Healing because I just couldn't live without it. Illusion: I've decided that I'm not gonna profess in Illusion, but it can't hurt to have Clairvoyance around, especially since I play without a compass or floating quest markers. Now let's have a look around... I raid Sinderion's ingredient stash and his (sadly empty) soul gems, and proceed to gobble one of each ingredient in one go. Amazingly, I only lost half of my health. How convenient. You can't be a necromancer and not have a dagger. In addition, I get to have an authentic dwemer artifact and not one of those tourist souvenirs from Markarth. I don't know wether this is something Arthmoor added or if it's always been there, but it may be essential in a place where you're at the bottom of the food chain. Well don't this beat all? I get Raise Zombie, Lesser Ward and Conjure Familiar. Now I can have my sweetroll and eat it too. I also find a pair of boots with a carry capacity enchantment, and an enchanted sword with fire damage in the footlocker. Apparantly, Sinderion expected to harvest many many samples of nirnroot. Finally, I discover a staff of magelight already in my inventory. Sub bro. How's that 'secret location' working out for you? I pocket his journal to formally begin the nirnroot quest. If I'm going to faff about in Blackreach, I might as well pick up noisy plants along the way. And here is Sinderion's attunement sphere. My only way out of Blackreach right now is the great lifts, and those have a tendency to close, so it helps to have one of these in case I want to get back without having to start another quest, even if it means having to clear a dungeon. I use the arcane enchanter to disenchant some of the crap I found, read the alchemy skill book, and make a poison of damage health, almost reaching level 2. Then I take a nap in the stone bed to wash away the negative effects caused by my ingredient binge and save the game.

    And here's my cat

As I’m sure many of you know by now, I breed pedigree cats. Our purpose is to maintain and promote the breed. Part of that process is to enter our little darlings in cat shows where they can be judged and hopefully win awards. The big difference between dog and cat shows is that with cat shows, we can’t run around a ring with our cats on leads. I wish we could! There are several cat breeds that will happily walk on a leash. In fact, it’s pretty much a requirement for Bengals and Savannas, which need a lot of exercise and stimulation. However the one thing I think all cat breeds have in common is their independence. They’ll walk on a leash, but where they want to go, not where you want them to go. So while it would be very entertaining, it would be chaos to have a bunch of cats walking around on leads. They would also fight. We’ve had two shows within a month which gave me the opportunity to show all my cats. The first show was in Niagara Falls as part of the Pet Expo. It was two days, running on a weekend. The second show was in Belleville and was only a one day show since it coincided with the awards banquet, which took place on Saturday. Now I’ll use the pictures we took from the shows to explain the structure, what the judges are looking for and show you the expressions on my cats’ faces as they tolerated the judging process. First, let's start with the Pet Expo floor in Niagara Falls: From that view, the cat show area was in the top right. The next picture is the cat show area. This show had four rings, or judging areas. All the participants are in show cages, or kennels on tables. Some shows will provide cages, but they aren't very good, so it's best to buy your own. We prefer the soft-side collapsible kennels, like the burgundy one at the front in the picture below. Show Mechanics To show your cat, they must be registered with the organization running the show. In this case, that's the Canadian Cat Association (CCA). Even household pets can be registered and shown and we regularly get quite a few people doing that. Then you fill out the entry form for the show. Once your entry is confirmed, you are assigned a number for each cat (or kitten). When you arrive at the show, you're given a catalogue that lists all the registrants and the show schedule. You look for the category for your cats so you know where you need to go and listen to the announcements for when your cats are called to the ring. Each cage in the ring will have a number on top and you place your cat in the appropriate cage. Judging Pedigree cats are judged based on their conformity to the breed standard. Each breed has a published standard and one of the really interesting tasks as a breeder is trying to judge how well your six week old kitten adheres to the standard. They change a lot and all breeders will tell you about the stories when they sold a champion. You just hope that when you do, at least you sold him or her with breeding rights and not as a pet! If you think you have a high quality champion, you want to keep that animal in your cattery and have them as part of your breeding program. In addition to the standard, cats are also judging on grooming and personality. Cat shows are beauty pageants and some cats just don't perform well in shows. My queen, Ada, is a perfect example. She hates shows and doesn't perform well. She is also small, so some judges may feel that she doesn't conform to the standard. The breed standard for British Shorthairs doesn't say anything about overall size, just that everything should be in proportion and they should have a cobby body. Cats are judged by multiple judges because each judge has different things that they consider important. Champion Status This only applies to pedigree cats. Once your cat has been judged by four judges and has not been disqualified by any of the four, you cat attains his Champion status. After that, he needs to beat out other Champions to gain points towards his Grand Champion status. Once he's attained that, he needs to beat other Grand Champions to earn his Double Grand Champion. After that, it's Master Grand Champion and then finally Supreme Master Grand Champion. You need to attend a lot of shows for several years to attain the higher ranks. Now let's get back to pictures! Once our numbers were called, Jimi and I took our cats to the ring and put them in their judging cages. Male cats are always separated by female cats or empty cages to prevent fights. Then the judge takes each cat of the cage and brings her to the judging table. Here's Curie being judged: Sharon is checking the proportion of Curie's ears and head. Curie's cage is number 22 in the background. Kyra was number 23, Kyan was 24 and Pascal was 25. It was Kyra and Kyan who did the best at the Niagara Falls show. Here are some pictures of Kyra being judged: The judges liked Kyra's rare colour and the quality of her coat. She also has a nice round face. As you can see, Kyan just wishes this was over. One of the judges checked Kyan's testicles (to make sure they've dropped) and so after that, he tucked his tail between his legs when each judge picked him up. One judge laughed and said "You'll get the hang of this". The judge checked him because technically, he's still a kitten. They don't do that with adults because if there was a problem, they couldn't breed. Anyway Kyan did very well. He has a nice plush coat that's very soft as well. His face needs to fill out more and if it doesn't, we'll get him neutered and keep him as a pet. Finally here are some pictures of Pascal. Pascal is an interesting case because his body is very good for a British Shorthair, but his markings aren't true. He's listed as a Silver Ticked Tabby, but he has some spots. Not enough spots to be called a Silver Spotted Tabby however. So he won't do well with any judge that knows their colours and markings, but not all judges do. He was ranked highest by one judge who felt body structure was the most important factor. Once the judges have seen all the cats for each breed, they start awarding ribbons. Here is Curie, Kyra and Kyan with the ribbons on their cages: They all get the red and green ribbons because they were the only British Shorthair cats in the show this time around and they all had different colours. The judge in this case awarded Kyan with best of breed and Kyra got second best of breed. None of that means points however. The really important part is when each judge picks their favourites among all shorthair cats and among all breeds. All breed means all cats, no matter their breed. Overall Standings Here are the awards my cats won at the Niagara Falls show: Curie - 7th best All Breed Kyra - 10th best Shorthair, 8th best All Breed, 9th best All Breed Kyan - 8th best All Breed, 5th best All Breed, 9th best All Breed, 10th best All Breed, 8th best Shorthair Pascal - 7th best All Breed There were eight judges in total and every single judge chose at least one of my cats in their finals rings. Here are some pictures showing the plaques they won on their kennel ribbons: That's Pascal and Kyan sharing a kennel and the picture below has Curie and Kyra sharing the other kennel. That concludes the Niagara Falls cat show. Thanks for reading! If you got this far, you deserve a medal.

I don't know what forum to post this in. As requested, here are my thoughts on my E3 experience this year. I had gotten the opportunity to get a media pass to go to E3 this year. (Those not in the know, they recently opened up passes for public purchase. Previously the event was by invite only or you required an approved media pass to be able to attend. The media passes are still a thing, and they get you in for free, rather than having to pay $249 for a ticket.) So I decided to go, along with my friend that got me in through his website. It was our first time meeting in person after having known each other online for 12 years, so that was an interesting experience in itself. If I had to describe E3 in one word it would be... exhausting. We flew in on the day that the showroom floor opened, June 12. We didn't plan well enough to get into any of the conferences. I did want to sit in on the Bethesda one but maybe next year. My plane landed in California at 8:50 am, pacific time after a torturous 6 hour flight in coach from New York, which departed at 5:10 in the morning, eastern time... Pain, suffering, agony... Three words that describe this tremulous experience. Hotel check-in wasn't until 2:00 pm that day, so I had to lug my heavy backpack around for the entire day which only made the first day all the more exhausting. We didn't end up leaving the convention center until around 5:30 pm that day. Thankfully, a mental health organization called Take This (Cool guys, check them out.) was there providing a secluded room which they called the AFK Room where you could come rest for a while. Needless to say, we spent a decent bit of time in there throughout the day. So you probably want me to talk about the games now, right? The first thing we ended up doing after arriving was getting in the line to check out the Nintendo area. They had a gated off section with a bunch of their upcoming games. You had to wait in line to get one of these guys: Card says day 3, but I actually did this twice. They rip up your card before you leave so I thought to take a picture of it the second time. They only allowed you inside the gated area if you presented one of those cards, no matter what kind of show pass you had. Once inside you got stamped for each game you played, and finally you got to turn the card in for some cheap trinkets (Some Mario pins and a Nintendo Switch... cloth? Napkin? Still can't wrap my head around what it actually is.) After that we basically just walked around the show floor for a while, checking things out here and there. We had split up at this point to check things out on our own, so I decided to head over to the Bethesda section. They didn't have much playable that I was really interested in. Fallout 76 wasn't there for some inconceivable reason. It's coming out this year so I don't understand the decision to leave it behind. What I did get to play, however, was The Elder Scrolls: Blades, the upcoming Elder Scrolls mobile game. Honestly, it wasn't that bad. I was expecting it to be, well... not good, but it proved me wrong. The game is pretty neat. You get three distinct areas to focus on. One for PVP, appropriately called the arena, one for dungeon crawling and town management, and one that's an endless dungeon. I chose the endless dungeon for my demo. It controls the best it can for a mobile game. You tap where you want to go on the screen and your character will run to that point. The combat was interesting, but not the best thing in the world. You hold down on the screen and let go when the little circle around your finger turns yellow and then your character attacks. I was disappointed in the lack of world interactivity. I went up to a crate, for example, and I was unable to look inside it. You can only interact with designated items that have a yellow glow around them. Another thing that kind of bugged me is just how many of Skyrim's graphic assets they straight up ripped from the game and plopped in here. You can tell that they're the same meshes, for almost everything. It does look pretty impressive for a mobile game though. I'm interested in checking out more of it when it comes out, but I'm not a huge mobile game player so that probably won't change. I also got a free ice cream from the Rage 2 ammo truck which was pretty funny. It was an ice truck decked out to look like an armored van. They were also giving out real, edible Elder Scrolls sweetrolls! So that was fun. Day 2 was a bit more interesting. We got there bright and early and were able to get into the line to play the upcoming Pokemon games. (Yes mom, I still play Pokemon.) I ended up kind of regretting that decision because we waited in that line for 3 solid hours. The games were pretty ok but nothing to really brag about, at least according to the guided demo that I played. They had a staffer at each demo unit guiding you through, telling you exactly what you were and weren't allowed to do. We were pretty tired after that and decided to go get some overwhelmingly priced lunch. The rest of the day we just kind of did some more wandering. I went to get some rest and while I was scrolling through twitter I saw that one of my favorite youtube channels, Funhaus, was doing a live show at the GameSpot booth, so I went over there to check it out. Seeing them live was a pretty surreal experience, especially after this happened... (Spoiler because it's a giant embedded video) I got to be part of the Q&A. Yeah, that's me. I didn't know what to ask so I just asked them an inside joke that only people that watch the channel would understand. Definitely the highlight of the show for me though. After that we wandered around some more before heading back to the hotel to rest up for the final day. Day 3 was basically all wandering around because we had already seen everything at that point. My friend stayed until 5:00 pm when his flight had to take off so we parted ways and I stayed until closing until I had to get over to the airport for my flight. Another agonizing 6 hours in coach after having to wait at LAX for 4 hours because I had no where else to go. Farewell LA. You're a terrible place, please don't ever change. Here's a picture of all the crap I left with. Of course I had to buy the Dark Brotherhood shirt and sticker at the Bethesda booth. Would I do it again? That's a tough question to answer. I did have a good time. It was definitely worth experiencing at least once in my life. Maybe if I go again next year I'll only do one or two days. All in all, good experience.

Hello TAL. I'm posting this today because I have been attempting myself at recreating my childhood experience of playing this game. I have to say thank you and you all gave great insight and suggestions on details that i could imagine are somewhat lost in todays modern day computer world. I have successfully emulated this game in a virtual machine and it runs Flawless. In my attempts to get this game running i tried windows 95, 98, xp,7,1 and after a sleepless night or two of tinkering i was finally able to launch the game. windows xp won't run the game at all; windows 95 (the one with IE) will run the game but not display right; windows 98 was the only OS that would run properly. I installed three crucial (i think) components to the system. 1. 256 bit color driver 2. Direct X8 (holy smokes this had windows 98 support!!) 3. ac'97 audio driver ps - my first attempt at making an iso failed miserably and resulted in the game starting, flashing a black screen and closing. The iso file was just 30 mb but upon inspecting the underside of the actual CD i could see the whole thing is written to so i'm guessing something was lost. i worked around this by putting the actual cd in the host machine and setting the cd drive in virtual box

@Amadaun This is who I was referring to in the other thread. Her name was Cyra, Persian for "Moon". My "baby" from 1998-2015. Ironically, also the year my twins were born, so she briefly got to meet my new babies.

OK, since I re-invented the wheel last time dammit, let's try again. Well, I don't actually regret that, it turned out to be a very productive thread (thanks, Vorians!), and I can think of other uses for that map code too. But wouldn't it be nice if we could actually see a result sometimes? So this time, I've taken an older piece of batch editing, which in turn was inspired by AB's floater-detect code, and used it to make all the Unique Landscapes logs into Qarl's Harvest activators that give you fungal ingredients. The result is here: Qarl's Harvest for Unique Landscapes And here's the code (yes, it does need more comments, but I'm losing the will to live right now . Need a beer, soonest.):

When you’re dealing with recalcitrant electronics, you usually have the options of kicking it, hitting it with something or just pleading with it. I discovered another option: ignore it for a week or two. When I last tried to boot my PC, I got boot, beep, boot, beep, boot, beep... It just keep rebooting itself before the BIOS even finished loading. That’s when I decided the motherboard was toast. I powered it down and just left it as I started to search for the components for a new PC. I had a hunch the other day and decided to power it up... You guessed it, it booted just fine. It’s really flaky so I need to get a new PC, but the CPU I want is on backorder everywhere. All the kittens have been adopted, so that will help with the bills, but I’m still looking for a new hosting service.

This is unfortunate. I'll be sad to see it go, but something I like to live by is "Don't be sad that it's over. Be glad that it happened." That kind of mindset tends to make loss a bit easier. TAL helped me out when I was working all alone and provided me hosting space and creative insight. The Brotherhood of Old would not be where it is today if not for your help, and I'll always be grateful for that.

17/3/2012 ----------------------------- I step out of the door, bask in the eerie azure glow and chug some fresh air. And here comes the first challenge of this particular game start. Yes, the first thing you encounter is a dwemer sphere guardian that can kill you in one hit. There is no way to avoid being detected, and it will always return to this spot when it's not trying to kill you. How did I get into this mess anyway? Did my mum ground me and program this thing to keep me inside? Either way, if I'm going to use Sinderion's lab as my home, it would be wise to dispose of this thing somehow, but that's a concern for later. I take my invisibility potion, which doesn't actually help me, since I was already detected. I sprint away, narrowly avoiding the guardian's first strike, and run up the stairs leading to Alftand while it fires its lethal crossbow at me. In the pitch black darkness, I somehow fall down into a recess between the platform with the entrance to Alftand and a staircase. That's when my potion wears off. The sphere guardian stalks toward me, but I decide that my position is dark and hidden enough that making more noise would be a greater risk. And then it comes peeking over the edge. Shortly after, though, it turns tail and heads back to its post, none the wiser. At this point, I creep back up and activate the crossbow that is aimed at the doorway, but the dwemer sphere is too far back to be hit. Alas. I decide to head left, jump off the platform, and whip out my staff of magelight because I cannot see anything ahead of me. With great confidence, I fire the light...into a nearby falmer. I suppose it was the noise of the staff that drew his attention, but the arcane ball of light sure didn't help. I panick and ran back up the platform, hoping it would give me an advantage if there is a fight. Fortunately, the falmer gets sidetracked. They clash for a little while on the porch of my house, until the falmer is slain. A shame, as I was hoping to have my front door to myself for once. Regardless, I notice that the guardian has been damaged by half of its health, and I get an idea. Tiptoeing into the lit area, I let the machine catch a glimpse of me. Then I sneak down this path, the sphere guardian wheeling steadily behind, and hope that I'm being quiet enough for the nearby falmer to notice my pursuer first. Amazingly, the construct becomes ensnared in a cluster of fungal jellyfish tentacles, which is noticed by a nearby lookout. I take cover behind a rock and watch as a chaurus and another falmer join the fray, the former creeping uncomfortably close past me. I also find myself right next to one of these. Suddenly, I have the urge to be a mischievous little dipshit and solve several tiny problems with one huge problem. Is there any other reason for these things to be here? It's like dropping a matchstick in a chinese fireworks stand. I pull the lever and skulk behind a group of rocks just in time to remain undetected, and start hearing the calamity. The battle does not take very long. After the pained shrieks die down, only the heavy chugging of the centurion is left. (There seems to have been an image here that I can't find anymore???) I can't conceive of a way to actually get rid of this golem, but they are a lot easier to outrun than falmer, and don't have any projectile attacks. Blackreach would be a lot more hospitable with them running amok and killing all of its other denizens. Still, I'd rather not wake one up unless I needed to. Whatever the case, the falmer dispatched the sphere guardian as intended, and I have successfully colonised the immediate area around my house. First them, then all of Blackreach!

Integration: TSL Walkthrough View File Integration: The Stranded Light is a hugely complex - and, at times, frustratingly arcane - mod, so I thought it would be helpful to provide a more detailed spoiler file/walkthrough for the quests. This is an HTML file - all spoiler info is blanked out (highlight to read it), so don't worry about accidentally seeing something you shouldn't. I incorporated the tables from the original spoiler doc, expanded on that, and added actual walkthroughs. Note that most of it is from the CS only - I've only done a handful of the quests, but I'll update periodically as I complete them. Submitter WalkerInShadows Submitted 04/05/2020 Category Quests

A thread of Uniformity Mods for Morrowind Gameplay vs. Text Over the years of playing Morrowind, I've noticed how many things which you read in books or are said through dialogue are inconsistent with what actually appears in gameplay. There have been many mods made which address a lot of these inconsistencies, either taking the form of bug fixes or lore-friendly additions to the game world. The goal of this thread is to make a list of all of these incongruities and list mods which address those issues. Modders can consider this thread a source for ideas, while players can consider this thread a place to share inconsistencies you have discovered with others and find potential mods to add to their playlist. For example, Savants will tell you this about Ald Redaynia: We know from gameplay that the only thing at Ald Redaynia is the ruined Wizard Tower. However, there are two mods which aim to address this inconsistency between dialogue and gameplay: Ald Redaynia Extended and Redaynia Village (my personal choice of the two) Please note, that I'm not stating that the way the gameplay turned out is automatically wrong if it disagrees with text, but it is oftentimes less interesting. With that introduction out of the way, let me get the thread started with my list of findings. The thread will be divided into several different categories: Inconsistencies: Explicitly variant material; those things which are said to exist in dialogue or books but which do not appear or are not recognized in the game. Ineffectuals: Implicitly variant material; those things which aren't explicitly absent from the game but which are severely underdeveloped. Inferences: Conclusions drawn from underdeveloped or hinted at material. These are much more subjective. Take it or leave it. Information: Items of somewhat obscure information hidden in the game's text. Change log List of Inconsistencies Explicitly variant material List of Ineffectuals Implicitly variant material List of Inferences Conclusions drawn from underdeveloped or hinted at material List of Information Obscure information >>> Please share your own experience with inconsistencies here in this thread! <<< >>> Please follow the format I have used when posting: quotation, issue, solution (if applicable) <<< >>> Feel free to use this thread for discussion of the lists in this post or lists posted by other members. <<< >>> If you know of or make any mods which address these items (or items which are not listed), please share here! <<<

I'm just going to be uploading various odds and ends I've made/end up making here for people to use as resources for their work if they wish. First up is the Abyssfish, a Daedric creature that roams the Waters of Oblivion. Hey, why not? It could exist, certainly. Has anyone ever gone to check and see if it doesn't? ;D Abyssfish

There's definitely GOG support for OBSE. You just have to download its own particular "latest" loader. It works great. Oblivion from GOG has no DRM, no overlays, it's already LAA so you don't have to use the 4gb patcher, it includes all DLC, and you can get it for $10 if it's on sale. It's a no-brainer for people who don't own Oblivion yet, and even for people that do I still suggest it highly.

Even the different colours have different prices because of their rarity. First you have to import the cats and then you need to come up with the right combination to get the results you want. I seriously lucked out with my first pair because I had no clue what I was doing. Now I would focus more on getting a chinchilla colour, which would be pretty expensive. And I think it's time to announce that I got my site updated finally. Cor Auratum is my cattery. The logo was done by Amadaun. Thanks Ama! Btw, I didn't change the colour, I just put it on the banner with the dark blue background and I thought the effect looked awesome. If you visit on a mobile device with low resolution, like a cellphone, you'll see the banner change and the logo drops down and shows its real colours. I still have a few fixes to upload to the live site, which I'll do shortly.

Oh my god, modcraft was such a shit show. The amount of gymnastics I had to do to get that damn darkbrotherhood.com website in order was infuriating. They had this horrible theme that they bought that they insisted on me using but it was such a broken, ugly looking piece of shit that I would have had to be some kind of wizard to make it work. In the end I just rebuilt the entire site from the ground up because it was so bad. They also had some really questionable stuff stored on the server for the site that I won't specifically get into... Those people were a nightmare to work with. Not to mention that any time I needed to get something done I'd have to go track "him" down on the vent server and butt into whatever fucked up conversation they were having. Then there was the whole part about me being threatened by Mr. Marine Moneybags when you guys were trying to split when I didn't even know what was going on. I have more but before this becomes the Modcraft horror story thread, I'll leave it at that.

Here are some pictures of my queen, Ada, just before she delivered her new litter. She was really big this time. The second picture shows dad, Pascal, walking by. I have descriptions of each image in my gallery album, here. Here are some pictures of Ada with her new kittens. Sorry for the fuzziness on some of them. The enclosure is fairly dark and I had to snap the pictures quickly in some cases. You can see the cord for the heating pad in some of the pictures. After Ada climbed out of the nest and laid on the cool floor, I realized it was too hot and removed the pad. As I said in the description for this picture, quickly taking pictures can lead to some unfortunate poses. Now some pics showing the kits on their own. Where's mom? In the next two pictures, I'm doing the daily weighing of each kit. I think you can see why I need to use nail polish on their back claws to tell them apart. They are mewing for mom in these pictures and she's anxiously waiting in the nest for me to return them.

For those that don’t know, I’m now a professional cat breeder of British Shorthairs. Today I talked to the president of the Canadian Cat Association as she works to get me set up with a mentor. We had a fun chat and I got some interesting advice. Here are some fun facts about breeding cats. Did you know that bathing a cat for a show is a 7 step process? I don’t know what those 7 steps are yet, but obviously just giving them a bath and blow dry doesn’t cut it. You have to get your cat tested for known genetic defects to make sure your cat doesn’t carry those genes. The woman I spoke to bought a cat from a breeder that was an excellent forger. She forged the test results to show the cat as being negative whereas she was actually double positive and therefore unbreedable. The cat was kept as a pet and with the woman’s diligence, has survived to be eight years old. The defect in this case is a heart defect. You have to watch out for Chinese brokers who will buy cats here to ship them to China. They wind up in big warehouses to be sold to the highest bidder where they are bred until they are dead. There are many Chinese who love cats and are quite affluent, so they care for their pets. Basically I was told to use translation services to deal with potential buyers directly and not deal with brokers. You shouldn’t have more than one intact male cat because they will compete for territory and it’s hard to keep them all satisfied. You need lots of queens to keep a male cat happy. I knew I was breaking rule no. 5 when I got a second breeding pair, but it was a deal I couldn’t pass up. Unfortunately the cats were mistreated by the woman that had imported them and I’m now working on getting them socialized. The male attacks Pascal on sight and he sprays (pees on furniture and stuff to mark his territory). I am buying “stud pants” for him, or, in other words, diapers. We use UV lights to find the bad spots (where cats have marked or vomited) and use products with enzymes and bacteria to break down the urine and remove the odour. Those are on order now. Female cats that haven’t been spayed will go into heat every three weeks from January until September. As the author of a book on breeding that I read put it, females are either in heat, pregnant or spayed. Heat lasts for a week to ten days. So I have screaming females, with frustrated screaming males, one of which pees all over the place if I let him run loose. I finally get peaceful silence for nine weeks if I let them breed. Then I have adorable kittens to wean and rehome. Vacations are now a thing of the past. Yes, I wanted to do this. Morale of the story: get your cats fixed unless you really want to breed pedigree cats. There are gazillions of unwanted animals waiting to be adopted. One last fact: pedigree is the term for purebred cats. Purebred is the term for dogs.

Hey all, so here's the gist of what's going on. I'm happy to say that the mod is indeed complete. It's done. It's playable from start to finish. What's holding back the beta at this particular moment in time is that I had an idea towards the end of development, and I just couldn't release it without that in. So I'm currently working on that, and it should be done by next weekend. Other than that, I do have a problem in a few spots where I'm getting that pesky dialogue bug (the one where you have to save and reload to talk to the person) so the flow isn't 100% due to that. I need to get that fixed before I can release it. I'll probably send it off to beta once this new feature is done, however. So yeah that's where things are at right now.

Could you rename it 'The Abode of Existential Dread Wherein The Long Dark Night Of The Soul Continues Unto Eternity Or Until The Heat Death Of The Universe, Whichever Comes First.'? I'm just not sure about this 'Fun' idea. Though I know young people these days sometimes have it, whatever it is...

I still say that we need to put term limits into effect and immediately kick out those in violation of them. I'm tired of the politicians doing what they want instead of their job.

I expect that this is a natural consequence of both your fluffiness and hypercubicality, not to speak of the natural animosity that monitor lizards harbour towards cephalopods. Tentacle envy, basically.

Wait, they hid embedding under attachment? I thought it meant uploading files like in 3.x. Thanks. I realize it's a fool's errand as we'll be switching soon but I think I'll go ahead and tweak the localization file and templates to at least make things more usable in the meantime.

We're both rather tired of all the bitching and whining about the forum software. We are going to select a product that we like and one that has the features we need. Oh, and by the way, nodeBB has a BBcode module.

Posting on Beth.net is easy, it's only when you try to be fancy that things go wrong, or add links which cause the badly set up spam protection thing to block you. Anyone saying "if you do [this] I'll leave" is just trying to blackmail Andalay & VM into doing what they want instead of what Andalay and VM want, which really isn't at all friendly, and will certainly be disheartening to Andalay & VM, and put them off even trying. End result could potentially be that they decide not to bother if too many people are moaning, and just shut the forum down, it saves them money after all.

This is getting silly. We're not going to pick something unusable. Heck, I can't even use 4.x due to the interface. In order to do anything, I've had to look it up in the code. I've worked with phpBB, SMF, this stuff, and more over the years so I think I can speak from experience when I say that not all of them fit our needs, we just need to find one that ticks most of the boxes. For instance, SMF has better defaults but phpBB is more flexible. We just need to carefully evaluate things, this "I won't use such and such because someone else isn't using it right" isn't helping matters. It kind of muddies the waters so to speak, making it harder to figure out if it will fit our needs. NodeBB is free software so there's a good chance that we'll be able to modify it even more than this thing we're on now. It doesn't guarantee it but it does make it easier since we won't need to worry about IPS bitching at us for making too many changes. So let's just relax and enjoy the show. "You're in good hands with Allstate."

I'm surprised at the "I'm out" stuff. IMO it's the people that make the forum, not the software. I'm sure that Andalay will get whichever software she chooses configured well, or switch to one that can be. I only wish I knew enough to be of some help, but my experience starts & ends with BBS's circa 1994.

    Hey Bong. I have here a VERY ROUGH draft of a relocation patch for you. The lightsabers are in a chest in the Arch-Mages Lobby, on the semi-circle table. Only mods that alter the Arcane U Arch-Mages lobby may conflict, and probably at worst, it would just be floating in mid-air, or superimposed into some other object the author placed in the same location. Doubt it's going to be a problem. The Bow of Thunder is located in the Chorrol Fighter's Guild, tower, lowest level. It's in a barrel on top of two crates, with a candle on top to mark it. I've never heard of a mod that alters this location, even Fighter's Guild specific ones, so I thought this would be a good place. I've altered the note for the Bow of Thunder to make it a more fun & comprehensible read. (Have you read the original?) I've also set both chests to respawn so you can go back and get more lightsabers & unenchanted versions of the bow should you ever want to. If you don't want that, let me know, I can change them all back. Bear in mind, I have not had a chance to test this in-game yet - at all. I have cleaned it in xEdit. The only LO requirement should be to load after Jedi Lightsabers & Bow of Thunder Dark. It shouldn't {doesn't} matter where OCC is located in relation. Sorry I couldn't do more today, It's been pretty hectic. Tomorrows not looking much better, but I'll try to clean some things up. I'd like to do things in a way that this will be mergeable into your Bashed Patch so it won't take up an ESP slot. If you wouldn't mind just testing it out & seeing if you can get at both items I'd appreciate it. Just don't save after doing so and your savegame should be fine with the next revision. I'll be able to work on it in about 18 hours, but I'll still be able to read your responses in the mean time. Regards, RM Lightsabers-BoTD Relocated.esp {Removed, see below.}

Good point. I've added some additional background that captures the gist of the original OP, without all of the now outdated information.
