      Orphan Attachments   07/31/2018

I have been doing some housekeeping lately and I've noticed that I had a lot of orphaned attachments. Attachments get orphaned when the PM or post is deleted without removing the attachment first. Deleting a PM or post does not delete the attachment and the file or image remain on the server. I'd like to ask all members to go through their attachments and delete any attachments you don't need anymore or those that have been orphaned. Where can I get a list of my attachments? Click on your display name in the upper right corner of the forums and pick "My Attachments" from the drop-down list. How can I tell an attachment is orphaned? If the PM has been deleted, you'll see a message like this in your attachment list: Unfortunately there is no message if the post has been deleted, so please check your old posts. We do purge old birthday threads every once in a while. Also some hosted projects have been shut down, so you may have orphaned attachments on one of those locations. Thanks!

  2. Oblivion - Steam version

I actually don’t recommend Kuertee Cleanup. It’s too aggressive and can cause problems with quest mods. It removes bodies that shouldn’t be removed. I really doubt you’ll have a problem with saved game bloat. I haven’t had that problem in literally years. I bet EngineBugFixes has some fixes for that too!
  3. Oblivion - Steam version

We figured out how to make it compatible. The instructions are in the Ob XP readme.
  4. Oblivion - Steam version

The BOSS exe isn’t being supported any more, but it works ok except the before and after clauses in the user rules are backwards. It’s not a bit deal. The new mod since you’ve played last would be EngineBugFixes and that’s a must as far as I’m concerned. You can even configure it to omit some fixes, but I’ve always used it as-is.
  5. Oblivion - Steam version

BOSS is still the one to use for Oblivion. Mhahn continues to update the master list. TES4Edit is being updated again and Elminster just released an update a couple of days ago.
  6. Random Stuffz

Jimi was re-admitted to hospital last week due to an infection. He was released today and we celebrated by ordering in dinner. He had a chili dog. I can’t think of a better way to recover from hospital food!
  7. messed map(missing both textures and messes)

Leo, please don’t direct people to the wayback machine. TESCOSI was moved here, as you know. If the links don’t work, then fix them! It’s a community wiki.
  8. messed map(missing both textures and messes)

Have you done archive invalidation in Wrye Bash? That looks like missing meshes and you need to do archive invalidation to fix it. Have a look at archive invalidation in TESCOSI for an explanation.
  9. Oblivion Crash on Load

It means that the setting is a multiplier, so x1 is a multiplier of 1. TESCOSI might have all these settings documented. Another option is the UESP.
  10. Did you check the wiki as I suggested above? It has several modding guides, not just the one Leo linked. I also uploaded some guides to Downloads - Morrowind - Miscellaneous, I believe.
  11. EngineBugFixes and multiple worldspace mods

    Ah, gotcha.
  12. Have you looked at the Morrowind Modding Wiki? Click on the Wikis link at the top of the forums and then click on the Morrowind Modding Wiki link in the list.
  13. EngineBugFixes and multiple worldspace mods

I didn't know there were two different issues. We have done the worldspace move thing with Black Marsh so the LOD will load properly. Once I split Black Marsh into an ESM and ESP, we won't be editing any other worldspace than our own. The Oblivion edits will be in the ESP.
  14. Oblivion Reloaded Compatibility Questions

Read the compatibility section in Oblivion XP's readme. This is why you shouldn't resurrect old threads.
  15. This topic was split off from the original topic about not playing Knights of the Nine. The OP asked about Oblivion Reloaded's compatibility with other mods. Re. Oblivion Reloaded: It will break Oblivion XP though, so you'll need to remove Ob XP if you want to use it. There are some ini settings with regard to levelling and sleeping that you can try disabling, but you might have to ask on the OR forums what those are. If you find them and disable them, then Ob XP should work. If you do get it working, I'd love to know what the ini settings are and I will include that info the Ob XP documentation.
  16. EngineBugFixes and multiple worldspace mods

And then all you need to do is to move the worldspace with TES4Gecko. That’s makes them load order independent.
  17. Oblivion Crash on Load

Did you check the compatibility section in the Ob XP readme? Also check the FAQ at the top of the Nexus comments. Also don’t use auto saves. They get corrupted very easily. You should disable them.
  18. Oblivion Crash on Load

As Vorians said. Furthermore, I’m not sure the OP installed everything with WB anyway.
  19. Oblivion Crash on Load

@Terrorix, follow Vorians’ suggestion. You need to focus on finding the mod or combination of mods that is causing your problem. You could try the abomb fix, but that usually happens only after a long period of game play. Wrye Bash will tell you if you need to use the abomb fix when you try to run it.
  20. Feedback thread

I have a ton on my plate right now, as you know from my status updates. I’ll get back to evaluating replacement forum software when things quiet down. I continue to look after the server and make sure it’s up to date. The forums are running and we have anti-spam software in place, so while the current forum software has some annoying bugs, it’s functional and secure.
  21. Oblivion Crash on Load

I already sent you the link to the installation guide in TESCOSI. Tomlong has a full list of the installation order of mods.
  22. Oblivion Crash on Load

I have no idea. I don't have any of the problems you listed.
  23. Oblivion Crash on Load

That might be something fixed by EngineBugFixes. If you aren't using that, I recommend you do so.
  24. Feedback thread

At this point, I don't know how to fix the busted mess that's IPS. I'll take a look, but just ignore it if I can't get rid of it.
