      Orphan Attachments   07/31/2018

      I have been doing some housekeeping lately and I've noticed that I had a lot of orphaned attachments. Attachments get orphaned when the PM or post is deleted without removing the attachment first. Deleting a PM or post does not delete the attachment and the file or image remain on the server. I'd like to ask all members to go through their attachments and delete any attachments you don't need anymore or those that have been orphaned. Where can I get a list of my attachments? Click on your display name in the upper right corner of the forums and pick "My Attachments" from the drop-down list. How can I tell an attachment is orphaned? If the PM has been deleted, you'll see a message like this in your attachment list: Unfortunately there is no message if the post has been deleted, so please check your old posts. We do purge old birthday threads every once in a while. Also some hosted projects have been shut down, so you may have orphaned attachments on one of those locations. Thanks!

    ....yeah, don't remind me how freakin' weird the Slaughterfish's animations are. What I'm thinking about doing is asking someone to load the Slaughterfish's animations into 3dmax and then export them to try and get rid of the weird vanilla formatting the animations have, then I can try to manually adjust the tail bones' rotations so they're vertical instead of horizontal.

    Ambient Wildlife - Frogs View File A simple-textured frog model rigged to use the vanilla Oblivion Rat’s animations. I've updated the UVMap and given them some designs. Beyond the permission usage of “don’t use this in a mod you’re charging people for”, this is a free resource. If you want to credit me for the time I spent converting it, that would be nice but isn’t required. The .esp has three different frogs: a light green one, a dark green one, and a bluish one. It also contains the sound effect entries for the creatures, and the blue and dark green frogs are copying their soundset from the light green one.     Okay, temporarily need to take the Whale Shark down because despite the model's source saying it was a Personal/Commercial License model it was seemingly ripped straight from WOW... -.- I found another model that I'll convert and replace it with, soon-ish.

    Yeah, I suppose that makes sense. I have a friend in Russia who has a student's license or what-have-you, and I always have to ask him to download .max file stuff and convert it to 3ds/obj files so I can open it in Blender...speaking of Blender, I honestly like the newest version once I spent some time understanding the new layout. It's just a hassle to save everything in Legacy format or as a .3ds file so I can open it in the Niftools' older version to export it for Oblivion. >.> Can't wait for that newest Niftools to get finished.

    Well, for me the biggest downside to modding is that the longer the project goes on the less time I actually have to play the game I'm modding or test my work...which slowly kind of drains my enthusiasm. And then when the project is finally done, I...pretty much know all the content ahead of time, so there's less suspense and surprise and what-not when I do actually get to play. --- Only other creature I've worked on recently that might have a place squeezed into BM's LL without much question is the Nixad (Click Here for a screenshot). They're tiny little insectoid fairies that used to inhabit the Nibenay during ESO, but slowly disappeared due to the Empire's development of the land. I could see them migrating to live amongst the Hist where they'd be safer, or something. Also, when I was purusing some creature resources...in the Snusmumriken's' BTMoreEnemies mod, I saw this note: "Bubbulture (lives in the Rainforest near the border to Blackmarsh I made this creature especially for the BlackMarsh Project. It's currently under development, but I look forward to playing it when it's finished!" Is that for this BM or another BM project?

    I've been procrastinating for months on just adding racial greetings to one of my mods just because of how tedious it is and me being the only one to do it...full-fledged quest dialogue and journal entries is a total nightmare even further. X__x I admire your tenacity. Meanwhile I have the new frogs done, just forgot to upload them. --- Edit: Uploaded to the download area. The dummy .esp has a LL for Raw Frog Legs and Frog Tongues ingredients to death-drop. I included a soundset for them, but for whatever reason they never seemed to make any noise when I tested them briefly in-game...either way, they're more-or-less done. If someone wants to change the texture, I can upload the un-collapsed .pdn file for editing.

    It's feasible, I guess. If one imported the Slaughterfish IdleAnim for their "breach" into 3D Max 7, re-did the Extra Data, and exported it again so the the BSplines and other weird stuff are converted into a more sensible format, the animation's Bip01/Bip01 NonAccum translations and rotations could be tweaked to to a more horizontal leap instead of a vertical one. --- Behold, the Hippolizar! Doesn't exist in the lore at all, but it felt TES enough for me to rig it to the boar skeleton. >.>

    Okay, to correct myself a bit because I was crappy typing via phone...make a copy of the Slaughterfish directory will all of the animations. Rename it...Flying Fish, or whatever you want to call the folder. Open it up, delete Idle.kf. Make a copy of all the swim*.kf files in the folder, then remove the "swim" from the .kf's name. Change the fish's skeleton directory to the new Flying Fish folder. You might need to fiddle with checking either Flies or Walks...I'm not 100% sure what the difference is game-wise. If you modify the original Slaughterfish folder's animations it'll probably cause bugs.

    Yeah, you can copy all the swimming animations, delete the flopping remove the word swimming from the file name, and then in the CSE mark them as Flying in addition to Swimming. The Slaughterfish will swim and move through the air.
