      Orphan Attachments   07/31/2018

I have been doing some housekeeping lately and I've noticed that I had a lot of orphaned attachments. Attachments get orphaned when the PM or post is deleted without removing the attachment first. Deleting a PM or post does not delete the attachment and the file or image remain on the server. I'd like to ask all members to go through their attachments and delete any attachments you don't need anymore or those that have been orphaned. Where can I get a list of my attachments? Click on your display name in the upper right corner of the forums and pick "My Attachments" from the drop-down list. How can I tell an attachment is orphaned? If the PM has been deleted, you'll see a message like this in your attachment list: Unfortunately there is no message if the post has been deleted, so please check your old posts. We do purge old birthday threads every once in a while. Also some hosted projects have been shut down, so you may have orphaned attachments on one of those locations. Thanks!

  1. Are there any plans in the pipeline for TAL to support SSL in the future?

Millstone Farm has "Bundles of Firewood". Also there is a series of player homes with integrated crafting features and some of them have wood which can be purchased, gathered from a firewood pile or chopped/sawn, and then carved into statues. They also, interestingly, have clothing crafting that goes from sheep to finished outfits and includes a loom and a spinning wheel. Also some basic smithing and armor/weapon repair. It's all a lot of clicking though, not like Craftybits, so it can get a bit monotonous. They're nice player homes though and have pretty settings too, with swans and dandelions and shit. The wood will like have an identifying word for which home it belongs to and then "wood," so like for "Fisherman's Cottage" it's "Fisherman Wood".

Oh, it's not hitting it hard, I know I don't have to hit it hard. It's hard to hit it at all. A patch would be awesome, thanks in advance for the trouble. I don't really understand what you mean about using the pliers as a magic wand. Come to think of it though, I did only try kicking the lapidary equipment, not grabbing it. I'll do that next time. Anyway, the equipment doesn't land upside-down as often as it lands tilted at an angle. I should have been more specific.

If you scaled the equipment up even a little bit, it would help a lot. I'm not running. The problem is that it's such a small target. It always takes me multiple attempts to drop anything on it. Also, it doesn't always lay flat when you drop it, and if you kick it when it's not laying flat it won't budge. So you have to pick it up and drop it again until it's laying down properly.
  5. Craftybits 0.811 Bug Reports

I tried out the lapidary equipment again, version 0.811.2c. This time when I drop the pestle after placing the gem on the plate, I get a message that the items don't make anything and the lapidary equipment can only handle two items. This happens no matter what stone I use. No change after I tried resetting arrays. Cutting flawed gems still works.

Thanks for the update, Munch! I have been looking forward to this. You are awesome as always. Same problem with the lapidary equipment, I'm afraid. I can cut flawed gems into regular gemstones, but I still can't powder gems or gold/silver nuggets. When I put regular gemstone down and I drop a smithing hammer on it, like you told me to, I get the message that the gemstone is as good as it's going to get. When I drop the pestle, like it says to in the guide, nothing happens. And did I mention that the lapidary equipment is too damn small? It's really hard to hit it with the hammer, and half the time it glances off that little gold anvil.

I actually have a pretty decent video card. The issue with Skyrim seems to be some prissy compatibility issue that it has decided to have with my card, and I'm done fighting with it. I play Oblivion on the highest settings, and with 4gb, OSR, Moreheap, and Streamline, it runs pretty smooth. Yes, I can see the steam. I try to ignore spiderwebs because of very serious arachnophobia. I only use Wrye Bash, I really have no patience for other mod managers.

They are very clearly called roosters. I am not sure what mod they are from, I will add a filter to TES4Edit and see what adds roosters, there may be more than one mod that adds them. I'll let you know what I find. ETA: All right. Results: MMM, SoC, MTC Expanded Villages, and Better Cities all add roosters. I have gotten eggs from a few different roosters but have not noted their locations, but the most recent one is near my current save so I can check on that. I never mentioned this, but there's this one cow, I think it's added by some or other player home mod, don't remember where it is, but it gives wool instead of milk. I don't know if they made a goat or a sheep into a cow, or what. But it's kind of funny.

Not really much of a bug, but. I am not able to get milk from calves or bulls, but I can gather eggs from roosters. This isn't much of a problem, certainly low-priority if anyone wants to bother with it at all--but those roosters were probably embarrassed.

Well. Even if I can't stuff things into it in my inventory, which would have been kind of similar to the "Horadric cube" of Diablo II, I can still see usefulness of this for someone like me. I'm constantly chugging feather potions so I can stay out in the field a little longer before I have to go home and stash all my accumulated loot. The backpack would be useful for my sell-don't-use pile. And as a side note, I've never gotten to play Skyrim, myself. I purchased both Oblivion and Skyrim at roughly the same time (when Morrowind just got too frustrating to continue for the time being), and after I had played Oblivion for a while I tried to play Skyrim. And I can't make it run without crashing my entire PC. It seems there must be some critical incompatibility with some hardware component I have, most likely my video card. As far as I've gotten is the scene where they are about to start executing the prisoners on that platform thingy, and then my PC screams and dies. So I don't have any of these problems of being "spoiled" by Skyrim, don't even know what you're talking about. No spoilers please! I do intend to play it one day, when I eventually upgrade my hardware.

So...you mean you can put stuff inside of the backpack while it is in your inventory, but to get something out of it you would need to drop it? I have to admit I was not interested in the backpack idea at all, but the concept of a container within my inventory...that sounds pretty rad.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet. Regarding the permanent structures dilemma, another solution to the pathing problem is to contrive an excuse for a separate worldspace to build a farm, town, etc. on one's own island or up in the sky or somewhere off in the Black Marsh or whatever. While setting up my own little campsite, I thought many times how nice it would be to have a spot with lots of nice flat land that doesn't swallow half the shit you drop on it.
