      Orphan Attachments   07/31/2018

I have been doing some housekeeping lately and I've noticed that I had a lot of orphaned attachments. Attachments get orphaned when the PM or post is deleted without removing the attachment first. Deleting a PM or post does not delete the attachment and the file or image remain on the server. I'd like to ask all members to go through their attachments and delete any attachments you don't need anymore or those that have been orphaned. Where can I get a list of my attachments? Click on your display name in the upper right corner of the forums and pick "My Attachments" from the drop-down list. How can I tell an attachment is orphaned? If the PM has been deleted, you'll see a message like this in your attachment list: Unfortunately there is no message if the post has been deleted, so please check your old posts. We do purge old birthday threads every once in a while. Also some hosted projects have been shut down, so you may have orphaned attachments on one of those locations. Thanks!

  1. Movie Quote Game

Yeah. It's definitely a Wizard of Oz movie. Maybe that newer one with James Franco.
  2. [RELz] BOSS

True. I must apologize for the distraction.
  3. [RELz] BOSS

Well, it's a nice rig for 2008, 2009. Yeah, I'm doubting you'd be able to play anything recent-ish of the AAA variety. My guess is your last upgrade were the SSD's? You may need a full overhaul to play GTA 5. This is a great time to buy most PC components, what with Ryzen out shaking up Intel's pricing. Skylake-X; Kaby Lake-X (Boo); Threadripper soon? Great times.

6GB, eh? I'm just going by the industry with my facts and figures, but 6GB is pushing it for modern AAA titles like Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Battlefield 1, etc. I don't doubt you can play the games, but I'm guessing a couple extra Gigs will reduce stuttering, hitching, etc. -- just general smoothness and responsiveness. But, you would know before me, I'm running 16GB. I guess it just depends on what you play. Old 32-bit games can only address 4GB at most, so those games should be smooth. But break out a 64-bit'er... there could be performance issues. What games do you play? What's some of the specs on your rig?
  5. [RELz] BOSS

The Userlist stuff is just something I'd like to see integrated. Develop it the way you think is best. I can be plenty patient -- I still have BUM for all the Userlist needs.
  6. Movie Quote Game

    Yep. Noble ShadowHunter nailed it.
  7. [RELz] BOSS

Aside from absurdity, I suppose I would lean towards functionality over a leaner footprint. Have that list respond -- and be 100% available for parsing -- over using less memory. I'm doubting any modern rig has less than 8GBs today, with 16GBs being the sweet spot. For gaming, at least.
  8. Movie Quote Game

Nope. This movie was released to theaters in 1993. It has spawned 4 sequels. It was quite popular in it's day.
  9. [RELz] BOSS

Yeah. It would be neat if you could add in the Masterlist keyword search and Masterlist Category searching too. Those two really let you speed through the masterlist.
  10. Movie Quote Game

My fault. I will wait for word from the quote giver prior to throwing out a quote next time.
  11. Movie Quote Game

"Hey, we were saving that!" "For today. I guarantee it"
  12. Movie Quote Game

Batman Begins. The scene in the beginning when their in prison.
  13. [RELz] BOSS

Interesting. I'll check out the post.
  14. [RELz] BOSS

I did not know you could embed pics here. Let me do that. As far as development: what are you writing it in? How will the management of the masterlist be handled when it is released?
  15. [RELz] BOSS

But of course. Here is a link to a few photos. The interface is simple and intuitive. If you can even improve upon it, that would be awesome. I don't know if the author will be around to update BUM for this newest BOSS you are working on. But if you merge the best parts of BUM then who cares. Are you really going to rename BOSS to BESST? Are you going to add support for Morrowind? I think Skyrim is pretty well handled by LOOT. But, IMO, LOOT makes terrible decisions for Oblivion. BOSS (BESST) must live on. So where do you stand on BOSS progress, Visceral? Will we be able to see an beta soon?
  16. [RELz] BOSS

Whatever is easiest for you. For the Userlist, maybe take some inspiration from BUM. It's straightforward, easy to learn, useful... I suppose you can tell I'm a fan of BUM.
  17. Tools and Utilities

    My pleasure there, Andalay.
  18. [RELz] BOSS

Thank ya, Deaths_Soul (that's you old handle in the official forums, right?)
  19. VM's Random Tidbits

Windows "Optimizing" of SSD's isn't defraging them like a spinning disk, it's running the TRIM command. It won't defrag an SSD. TRIM wipes blocks of data that are not in use by the OS, which keeps SSD's running as close to peak performance as possible.
  20. Autohotkey Scripts

That's a neat find, there. Thanks.
  21. Tools and Utilities

Here's one that is super handy if you are trying to install textures for something that has multiple texture packs to choose from: TES Texture Merging Utility. You can compare up to 3 of the same texture files at the same time, in a handy window that can be resized to fit all screen sizes. There are a lot of texture packs to choose from that are made for Oblivion; download them all and choose what you like best.
  22. [RELz] BOSS

Yeah, haha. Thanks AndalayBay. Well, the most time saving and useful part of BUM (for me, at least) is the Masterlist Browser -- the pane on the right side of the GUI. It allows to quickly rip through the Masterlist when trying to place a user defined plugin. That's really all you need for a good userlist manager.
  23. TES IV Oblivion: Cut Content

Nex? Have you found more neat cut content? Have you played Oblivion Uncut? Oblivion Content Restoration Project? Did you find more than those authors found? Cut developer content is cool; usually fits well in the game world.
  24. [RELz] BOSS

I'm going to pop in here from out in left field and ask if you are familiar with BOSS Userlist Manager? It would be neat to have some of the handy and time saving features of that program integrated into BOSS. Do you plan on giving any TLC to the Userlist handling? If you don't then nevermind. BUM exists, it would just have to be updated for a new version of BOSS.
