      Orphan Attachments   07/31/2018

      I have been doing some housekeeping lately and I've noticed that I had a lot of orphaned attachments. Attachments get orphaned when the PM or post is deleted without removing the attachment first. Deleting a PM or post does not delete the attachment and the file or image remain on the server. I'd like to ask all members to go through their attachments and delete any attachments you don't need anymore or those that have been orphaned. Where can I get a list of my attachments? Click on your display name in the upper right corner of the forums and pick "My Attachments" from the drop-down list. How can I tell an attachment is orphaned? If the PM has been deleted, you'll see a message like this in your attachment list: Unfortunately there is no message if the post has been deleted, so please check your old posts. We do purge old birthday threads every once in a while. Also some hosted projects have been shut down, so you may have orphaned attachments on one of those locations. Thanks!

[RELz] Oblivion XP

Recommended Posts

Ajensis, I split your posts into a new thread called Installation Help.

saebel, is that why the assassination bonuses stopped? Oblivion XP detects SDR and disables its sneak kill bonus. I am pretty sure I should have had some successful assassinations, but haven't been getting the bonus points.

SON OF A BISCUIT!  I missed that one too.  (sigh),

New version is up.

8.233/8.234

Released February 26, 2015

SDR.esm changes

The following issues were caused because I was a moron and didn't notice that I spelled "Oblivion XP" as "Oblivon XP" when trying to detect the mod.

  • Corrected issue where SDR's Assasination skill up system was not passing on rewards to Oblivion XP if loaded.
  • Corrected issue where SDR's alt sneak skill up system was not disabled when Oblivion XP was loaded.

I'm having a CTD every time I click "Done" when I levelled up with Oblivion XP. I tried it in different locations but it still crashes.

Are you using DLL or weOCPS? You can't use either one with Oblivion XP.

No, I don't use either of those. I even had to look up DLL.

You really need to sort that load order with BOSS. :) Then rebuild your Bashed Patch. I also recommend installing Ob XP with BAIN.

Thank you - sorting the load order with BOSS solved the problem. :)

Now to wait for the update to Dynamic Music System from forli and I can enjoy Oblivion again :D

I've an idea and I wonder if you have consider to let the "Welcome to OblivionXP" phrase to be said with a voice actor in each language OblivionXP has a translated version. :)

So I filled up my XP bar, and was ready to level up... But when i click the level up button, it flashes for a second and then nothing happens. I've rebuilt the bash patch, BOSSed my load order, and reinstalled the mod. No joy. Any ideas?  Also tried it a new char, and it worked for level 1, but then after level 1 i immediately leveled up to 2 and now can't level up again.

It works if I type player.advlevel - does this mess up the mod or is this okay?

Welcome to TAL and thanks for posting here. :) First, you aren't running weOCPS, correct?

Second, try removing these:

37  P1DmenuEscape.esp

88  P1DkeyChain.esp  [Version 5.00]

The keychain mod doesn't work too well anymore, and it's not really needed with DarkUId DarN anyway. How did you install DarkUId DarN? I really doubt that menu escape mod would be compatible with Oblivion XP and I suspect that's the issue.

After removing those, sort your load order with BOSS again and then rebuild your Bashed Patch.

With a load order of that size, you really should let Wrye Bash manage it for you by using BAIN. You've got mods that modify the menus and the only way to make sure all that is managed properly is to install everything via BAIN.

Yes, if that touches player levelling in any way, it must be removed. Oblivion XP needs full control of player leveliing, including the PC attributes and skills.

I think this mod could cause the "can't level up" issue.

A4  LEVELEDNEW.esp

Ah, LEVELEDNEW is just my TES4EDIT merged leveled list - not a leveling mod.

Nope - not running weOCPS. I WAS running it - but not on this character.

And I've uninstalled both mods, BOSSed and Bashed and it still doesn't work. Also installed DarkUId DarN with OBMM.

Which version of MenuQue are you running? If you aren't running 16b, then please upgrade and let me know if that helps. If not, then please follow the next steps.

Ok, I would like you to take some screenshots for me. Please take a screenshot of each of these folders:

  1. Oblivion\Data\menus
  2. Oblivion\Data\menus\prefabs\ObXP

Then, please install Conscribe. Once you've installed Conscribe, please load your game, open the console and type the following:

sqv obxpmain

Close the console and exit the game. Then go to your Conscribe Logs folder and copy the contents of Static Log.log to your reply here, starting with the sqv obxpmain line. You can attach your screenshots directly to posts here. You'll need to re-save them as JPG first so that they are small enough.

I honestly have no idea why you're having this problem. Ob XP works fine with FCOM. I still suspect the problem is one of your other mods, but I don't know which one.

From the looks of things, it wants you to level up now, correct? You should have the level-up symbol on your HUD, unless you have configured Dark DarN to not display it. Have you ever modified the levelling parameters after it has prompted you to level up? Doing that will cause the problem you are having. Could you post the contents of your Oblivion XP ini file, please?

Since your character is only level 2, I recommend uninstalling Oblivion XP. Load up a saved game and save your game to a new slot. Then reinstall Oblivion XP. If you wish to change the levelling parameters, you must do so before loading your game up again. Then load your save and when it prompts you to initialize Oblivion XP, do so.

I can't remember if I've changed my ini - but I DEFINITELY didn't change it on this character, so it shouldn't be the problem. I'm posting this now and will edit it later to say the results of reinstalling obxp.

; training sessions will NOT carry over to the next level unless you use another
; mod that adds this functionality.
;
; - trainingCostMult -
; This sets the training cost multiplier. It will override any changes made
; to this variable by other mods.  Set to zero to use the default or to allow
; other mods to control this value.
;

; The amount of XP Needed per level is multiplied by this factor.
;
; - multXPNeededLevel -
; Controls the per level increase of the amount of XP Needed to gain a level.
;
; - multXPNeededBase -
; Controls the base amount of XP Needed to gain a level.

;
; - skillPointCostJourneyman -
; Specifies the increase in the number of Skill Points it costs to increase
; a Skill by 1 for Journeyman level skills or higher.  Set to 0 for all costs
; to remain the same, no matter the level.  Set to a whole number greater than
; 1 to increase the cost even more.
;
; - skillPointCostExpert -
; Specifies the Skill Point cost increase for Expert level skills or higher.

;==============================================================================
; XP NEEDED TO LEVEL
; ------------------
; The formula for XP Needed to Level is as follows:
;
; XP (x) = multXPNeeded * (QuadraticAmp * atan(QuadraticSlope * x^2 / 250) + Linear * x + Base)
;
; where x = Player Level. This is then rounded to multiples of 100.
;
; This formula describes a curve that, at first, goes up really quickly, and then
; after a while goes over into a straight line. With the default settings, what
; this means is that, before level 30, the XP Needed to Level will increase more
; and more and faster and faster each level, until you reach around level 40-45
; and then every level your XP Needed increases with almost the same amount
; every next level.
;
; To better understand this formula, here follows a qualitative description of
; what each variable does.
;
; - multXPNeeded -
; This simply multiplies the result of the formula. If you like the shape of the
; XP needed curve, but just want to make it slower or faster to level, than this
; is the easiest variable to change.
;
; - multXPNeededBase -
; This controls the very base amount of XP that is Needed to Level, regardless
; of the rest of the formula.
;
; - multXPNeededLinear -
; This variable controls the increase of the straight line, it mainly determines
; how much XP Needed increases after level 40 (before that it has a lot less
; influence).
;
; - multXPNeededQuadraticSlope -
; The slope variable controls how quickly the peak of increasing XP Needed per
; level is reached. If you set this to 2, for example, your XP Needed will go
; steady at level 25-30 instead of level 40-45. Increasing this variable also
; slightly increases the XP Needed, but not by much.
;
; - multXPNeededQuadraticAmp -
; This variables determines the amplitude of the quadratic part of the formula.
; What it determines is really the maximum amount of Needed XP contributed by
; the quadratic part. This value is reached when the curve goes into the
; straight line (which point is determined by the Slope variable).
;==============================================================================

Set ObXPSettings.multXPNeeded to 1 ; 1
Set ObXPSettings.multXPNeededBase to 1500 ; 1500
Set ObXPSettings.multXPNeededLinear to 150 ; 150
Set ObXPSettings.multXPNeededQuadraticSlope to 1 ; 1
Set ObXPSettings.multXPNeededQuadraticAmp to 20000 ; 20000

;==============================================================================
; XP GAIN MULTIPLIERS - KILLS
; ---------------------------
; This controls the amount of XP that is awarded per kill. The calculation is
; as follows: First, the Base XP of a kill is calculated, after which the stats
; of the NPC are compared to your own, which determines the Bonus Multiplier.
; This Bonus Multiplier is then applied to the Base XP to yield the XP awarded.
;
; - multXPKillBase -
; Increase this to have kills yield more Base XP.
;
; - multXPKillBonus -
; When this is set to 1, the Bonus XP Multiplier is normally equal to 1 when
; the NPC's stats are equal to yours. Setting this to 2 for example will make
; it so that if your stats are twice that of the NPC, you get the base amount
; of XP. Essentially, this is the toughness ratio of the NPC to the Player. If
; you set it to 2, then that means the NPC will only have to be half as tough
; as the player in order to yield full XP.
;
; - multXPKillLevel -
; After the above is applied, the XP gained is multiplied by the 1 plus the
; player's level times this factor.
;
; - multXPKillSneaking -
; If the player makes a kill in stealth and remains undetected, the XP gained
; for the kill is multiplied by this factor. This parameter is ignored if you
; are using Sneaking Detection Recalibrated (SDR) and you have the
; assassination bonus enabled.
;==============================================================================

Set ObXPSettings.multXPKillBase to 5 ; 5
Set ObXPSettings.multXPKillBonus to 1 ; 1
Set ObXPSettings.multXPKillLevel to 0.3 ; 0.3
Set ObXPSettings.multXPKillSneaking to 2.0 ; 2.0

;==============================================================================
; XP GAIN MULTIPLIERS
; -------------------
; This controls the amount of XP that is awarded per action.
;
; - multXPLevel -
; Any XP gained is multiplied by (1 + player level * multXPLevel). Set this to 0
; if you want the same actions to always yield the same XP regardless of your
; character's level. Quest and Killing XP are not affected by this, but they
; instead have their own level multiplier.
;
; - multXPQuestLevel -
; Any XP gained for completing a Quest is multiplied by
; (1 + player level * multXPQuestLevel).
;
; - multXPSleeping -
; Unlike the other XP gain multipliers, this is a percentage of the total XP
; needed to level. By default, it's at 3% with a maximum of 8x3% = 24%.
;
; - globalQuestXPMult -
; The XP gained for completing any quest is multiplied by this value.
;
; - lockpicksBrokenMax -
; This determines the maximum number of lockpicks the player is allowed to break
; while still getting XP for picking a lock.
;
; - multXPStealing -
; The XP gained per amount of gold fenced. So you get 5 points for fencing 10
; gold worth of items. You might set it to a lower value if you are using a mod
; that increases the value of items.
;
; - multXPNPCDisposition -
; The XP gained per point of NPC disposition increase. So you get 20 points for
; increasing an NPC's disposition by 10 via the Speechcraft mini-game. You only
; get points for playing the mini-game and only if the NPC's disposition
; increases.
;
; - SkeletonKeyCounts -
; This determines whether you earn points for lockpicking with the Skeleton Key.
; Zero (0) means no points are awarded, while one (1) means points are awarded.

; ----
; This controls the caps for your Level, Skills and Attributes. Note that when
; you allow skills and attributes to raise above 100, you will need to use one
; of the various uncappers (e.g. Elys' Uncapper) for the attributes to have any
; effect above 100. Also, these caps simply serve to not allow ObXP to raise

Ok. One thing you'll probably find with FCOM is that you'll need to slow the levelling rate. I'm wondering if you're gaining so many points that you're overloading the scripts. I've never heard of this happening before though, even though I know of lots of other people running FCOM.

First, for Oblivion, use BOSS. If you've got Wrye Bash, then use that to install DarNified UI and Oblivion XP. Here's the BAIN version of DarNified.

Have you modified the levelling parameters in the Oblivion XP ini? If so, I suspect you did so after being prompted to level up. Install DarNified UI and then Oblivion XP with Wrye Bash into your existing game. That won't change anything, but it will allow BAIN to register the files. Then uninstall Oblivion XP with BAIN. Load up your saved game and save your game again in a new slot. Now re-install Oblivion XP. Load up the new save and initialize Oblivion XP when prompted.

If you are still having trouble, then maybe it's DarNified UI Config add-on that's causing the problem. Remove that and then reinstall Oblivion XP. It might be replacing the level-up menu or interfering with it.

I installed (by the book!) the newest version of ObXP and I intend to used from scratch. I've noticed something though:

1.In Oblivion XP.esp there is a particular empty "Oblivion XP container" placed in Abandoned Mine. Any use for it?

2. I'm using AV Uncapper mod by JRoush. BOSS placed Oblivion XP.esp AFTER AV Uncapper but in OblivionXP settings.ini the attributes and skills are capped to 100. If I uncap them, should I place Oblivion XP.esp BEFORE AV Uncapper in the loading order?

3. I have some minor experience gain issues - a) when picking Nirnroots I get 60XP instead of 50 and b) when discovering new locations sometimes I get 36XP and sometimes I get double XP (72XP)

I didn't advance yet, still level 1, I'm using the default ini settings.
