Ever since the last Windows update the mouse is starting to play up in the Edge Browser scroll bars.

Happens only on certain pages, including these ones :( , but note the issue never occurred in any previous W!0 updates. Strange as the page scrolls well for a random interval after load then suddenly seizes! Controls on the page are still accessible, but cannot reproduce if just using the scroll keys. Drivers updated etc.

Jimi uses it too.

Well the mystery continues: The issue is also reproducible with the page up and page down key.

When operating them, sometimes the page jitters and only scrolls about half the page height.

From the sublime to the ridiculous. These kind of issues were supposed to be ironed out in Windows 1.0 - or at the very latest Windows 2.0!

Inserted a new sound card in the PC and booted W10 out of hibernation. Not recommended in 1703 as it stalled and then rebooted. Somehow all my N++ settings got nuked from the local directory.  The ones in Roaming were old and useless. :(

You really need to shut the PC down before changing hardware components, whatever version of Windows.

Yeah, it really won't work unless the PC is off completely. You could fry the motherboard that way. Windows won't recognize the hardware properly until it can register it in the BIOS, or whatever today's equivalent is. :P

UEFI! Still called BIOS because it's easier to call it that in the manual than have a chapter describing it's different but functions the same as far as the normal user is concerned. :P

I'm too old to learn a new acronym now. :P

Seriously, that makes no sense whatsoever. :questioning:

Run that one by us again please:

An acronym a day keeps a cod a way. Thus we don't want to be swimming in ...

Oh give it up before we get acrinomious- but there's sure to be a tunaverse of possiblities just around the corner!

For those of us who can't remember the constituents of  UEFI, for the time being let's call it an anacronym!

No clue why it's called Unified but it's called Extensible as it's extensible. For instance, there are plugins that allow you to play games in the UEFI shell. Why you'd want to do that, I have no clue. :P
