      Orphan Attachments   07/31/2018

I have been doing some housekeeping lately and I've noticed that I had a lot of orphaned attachments. Attachments get orphaned when the PM or post is deleted without removing the attachment first. Deleting a PM or post does not delete the attachment and the file or image remain on the server. I'd like to ask all members to go through their attachments and delete any attachments you don't need anymore or those that have been orphaned. Where can I get a list of my attachments? Click on your display name in the upper right corner of the forums and pick "My Attachments" from the drop-down list. How can I tell an attachment is orphaned? If the PM has been deleted, you'll see a message like this in your attachment list: Unfortunately there is no message if the post has been deleted, so please check your old posts. We do purge old birthday threads every once in a while. Also some hosted projects have been shut down, so you may have orphaned attachments on one of those locations. Thanks!

Skyrim VR

Skyrim VR for PC would be awesome. I can't even imagine what the CS for VR would look like... Not sure about buying a Playstation just for this, but I'm hoping the future is bright. :D

Surely Skyrim VR is nothing more than the existing game files of Skyrim with the perspective adjusted? So the CS would just be the existing CK.

They had another Zenimax studio revamp the game for VR, so it's not just a port. They actually had to rewrite a lot of things to make it... not terrible. The playstation thing is timed exclusivity; it should be coming to other platforms eventually.

That being said, dedicated VR headsets are still too expensive for my taste. I have Samsung Gear VR for my phone and the experience feels like a novelty, really. When the prices go down more I'll consider getting a dedicated headset. They're also going to have to come up with a wireless solution and something that doesn't require a bunch of sensors all over the place. Skyrim would be really interesting in VR though.

Yeah we're waiting too. We'd only be interested in VR for the PC and we'll see who gets into that game. It was the same with OLED TV's. For the longest time, only LG was producing sets, but in the last two years, Sony and now Panasonic are making OLED's. Our AV guy swore that Panasonic was done with consumer electronics, but I knew he was full of shit. :P By the time we can afford an OLED, we at least have a few choices.
