      Orphan Attachments   07/31/2018

I have been doing some housekeeping lately and I've noticed that I had a lot of orphaned attachments. Attachments get orphaned when the PM or post is deleted without removing the attachment first. Deleting a PM or post does not delete the attachment and the file or image remain on the server. I'd like to ask all members to go through their attachments and delete any attachments you don't need anymore or those that have been orphaned. Where can I get a list of my attachments? Click on your display name in the upper right corner of the forums and pick "My Attachments" from the drop-down list. How can I tell an attachment is orphaned? If the PM has been deleted, you'll see a message like this in your attachment list: Unfortunately there is no message if the post has been deleted, so please check your old posts. We do purge old birthday threads every once in a while. Also some hosted projects have been shut down, so you may have orphaned attachments on one of those locations. Thanks!

Identical to Master Records

Recommended Posts

@Malonnthe tiawar file is referred to:
"The Spectral/Ghost warriors and wolves have always caused this problem for me. When I play any location that has a lot of them (like Bawn), the local map will eventually bug out. At first, I will notice that the door markers and the player marker are in no longer where they should be. Next the gray outline of the various blueprint of the level will stop being drawn, and I will have a white background with nothing but the door markers. When this happens I just save and restart at that point.

I finally decided to try and do something about this. Obviously, I figured it has something to do with the ghost effect causing some kind of memory leak when used too much. First thing I notice is that OOO has two ways to do that effect: 1) in a script (like GhostArmorWeaponScript); and 2) with a spell added to the NPC or creature (AbGhostNpc). Both of these do the same two scripted commands:"

2) Damn, so you are telling me you ain't going to remove the Identical to esp records into the official esm? I was looking forward to have it cleansed another bit from unnecessary edits.

3) By the way, do you appreciate Kobal addon in the end? I'm so conflicted about it. I even published a post related to it on the official OOO extended page.

When a modder enables scaling on a creature the CS opens up two text boxes that allows him to specify a minimum and a maximum level for that creature. The creature will scale with the player within those levels. You enabled scaling on many creatures but have chosen to type the same number for minimum and maximum. This negates the whole point of scaling. If you wanted a creature to remain at a fixed level, the proper way to do it is to disable scaling altogether. Does this mistake cause crashes and freezes? Who knows.

Also, you remove a lot of iconic boss rewards that OOO added and replace them with your own choices. You often rebalance the bosses, too. Wouldn't it be better to call this mod with another name, like OOO rethought? ;)

4) I thought that OOO extended was now mantained by WiS, while you were mantaining OOO now. There are still some scripting issues being reported into the nexus forum. ;)

That's right--no, I haven't mentioned it to tiawar.

Nope.  WalkerInShadows is still the official torch holder for OOO.  Really, I don't need to be responding to comments, etc.  How much attention I give OOO depends on what I have going on.  Right now I'm deep into my custom OOO, so I don't feel like messing with official OOO.  In the future I'll be running the custom, so it will be a hassle to work with the official too--two different OOO's won't be in my LO obviously.  I've let WiS know the things that I change that effects OOO alone.  He maintains like three big mods, plus he is busy in RL, so I don't know how he does it.  But get in touch with him on Nexus if you want to bring any bugs and changes/enhancements.
