Nice! We have a coin collection that I’d like to cash in. My dad liked to collect coins. His collection has some uncirculated coins, but there are a lot of circulated coins too, so they are only worth face value. Still very cool.

We've got a couple unopened Lego sets from the Star Wars prequels that are probably worth something.  Despite...y'know...prequels.

My grandfather left me and my brothers a massive amount of coins.  I'm actually selling some on eBay now.  Proofs, uncirculated coins, commemorative specials, etc.  I should definitely have a few hundred dollars worth by the end.  He loved to collect coins.

What’s selling on eBay like? We were just going to take ours to a coin shop. We won’t get as much money, but it would be less hassle.

Yeah that's what I figured when you quoted that low price. You don't think of your toys as becoming collectibles when you're a kid! It blows my mind when I think of what people will collect.

It's definitely not as easy as going to a collector.  Pictures, posts, etc.  But my brother took his collection he got from my grandfather (he bought three of everything--one for each grandchild) and was given $500 flat--done and done.  I've made half of that and haven't touched the bulk of my collection.  Silver sells well on eBay I've found.  So I'm guessing I'll make 50% more than my bro by selling them on eBay.  Rough guess.  I like getting positive feedback too.

I think Sue said that she has a relative that makes pretty good money selling coins on Ebay. He has a store or something like that and picks out the nice coins from his cash, or from what he gets from the bank. I could get them appraised by the coin shop and then sell them on Ebay, I guess. How do you get paid? Paypal?

Yes.  Always Paypal.  That's basically the only way people handle money on eBay nowadays.

If you have any silver coins count on money.  Silver sells well.

One of my favourite shows is Forged in Fire. They even have episodes where they do fantasy or game weapons. Anyway tonight’s episode had a beautiful tongue twister:

Will Willis said “... Forged in Fire fully functional friction folder.” I’d love to see the outtakes for that line!

All those options are available, but our cable and fibre are monopolies, so they’re are stupidly expensive. It really pisses me off. We don’t have much choice for satellite either, but I found one that’s a bit cheaper.

So you have satellite TV?  That's what I have--I'm kind of out in the country and it's my only option.  Or streaming I guess.  But I have a slow 3 Mbit DSL service...

Yuck! That's one ugly site. :P Have you tried contacting him? I didn't like the look of the site (meaning I don't trust it), so I didn't even try.

There's definitely no mistaking him for a professional front end developer or designer. :) The only contact form though is a bug report.

I don’t think he’s a professional actually. If he was, he’d take more pride in his website and have a professional presentation. Instead he’s got a bunch of stuff about false positives from anti-virus software and threatening to ban people who directly link to his files. That’s what turned me off.

No, I would say he is a hobbyist.  His packages are convenient though.  We all need C++ runtimes at some point or another, so why not have all the latest in one easy package?  It would be nice if it was possible to download them...

Jimi was re-admitted to hospital last week due to an infection. He was released today and we celebrated by ordering in dinner. He had a chili dog. I can’t think of a better way to recover from hospital food!
