      Orphan Attachments   07/31/2018

I have been doing some housekeeping lately and I've noticed that I had a lot of orphaned attachments. Attachments get orphaned when the PM or post is deleted without removing the attachment first. Deleting a PM or post does not delete the attachment and the file or image remain on the server. I'd like to ask all members to go through their attachments and delete any attachments you don't need anymore or those that have been orphaned. Where can I get a list of my attachments? Click on your display name in the upper right corner of the forums and pick "My Attachments" from the drop-down list. How can I tell an attachment is orphaned? If the PM has been deleted, you'll see a message like this in your attachment list: Unfortunately there is no message if the post has been deleted, so please check your old posts. We do purge old birthday threads every once in a while. Also some hosted projects have been shut down, so you may have orphaned attachments on one of those locations. Thanks!

Uninstalling Skyrim

Recommended Posts

I've been prodded to get this thread up, so here it is. I'll flesh it out when I get the chance to check various things in a month or so.Here's the basics of purging Skyrim from your system:1) Uninstall the game normally2) Delete your skyrim folder under Steam/steamapps/common. The Steam directory is wherever Steam is installed. By default, it's in Program Files (x86) on the main system partition.3) Delete your Skyrim directory under (My )Documents/(My )Games after backing up your save files if you wish.4) Do a system-wide search for plugins.txt making sure hidden folders and files are included. Delete the Skyrim folder that it is in.Some registry cleanup may be necessary, so I'll check on that when I get the opportunity.

Thanks. Doing a state-wide purge of everything LE.

The only thing salvaged from the wreck was BSAopt x64.exe and BSAUnpacker- although that's a bit old- will it work i wonder?

And the little CreationkitNOENBbug.bat that renames the DLL- although as ENBoost is not available, it won't be used.

Also worth mentioning the ...\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\Skyrim as well, it's created for plugins.txt.

DLCList.txt
loadorder.txt
Plugins.tes5viewsettings
plugins.txt
SteamModList.txt

Loot and/or XEdit use it as well, although LOOT has a separate directory in Appdata
